They are a measure of liquid volume. Whereas regular ounces are weight. There are 20 fl.ozs. to a pint. (Or 16 if you are in the USA. A US gallon is only around 80% of an Imperial gallon and their pints are smaller too obviously. Especially when they come with two inches of foam on the top.)

Weather is always centigrade Celsius. I have no appreciation of the conversion between the 2 when I've heard the temperature described as 'boiling, in the high nineties' nope. Means nixies
