Matt's immediate replacement at Grimsby was a young striker, originally from the North East, who I knew very well. He didn't last long before he was shipped off to Scunthorpe.
However he ended his playing days at Bromley were he settled. Before becoming a scout for Brentford. His son was briefly on our books, after being released by Palace, but played on the same position as Paul Konchesky and later played for Bromley himself.
Not really a Matt Tees story but I thought it was worth sharing anyway.
