I don't know why it's called "The First Dance" because it's the first Rampage show was last week, so it must be because of a big debut. That, combined with it being in Chicago, and the amount of references AEW, their wrestlers and even Punk himself have made to it, i can't see how it won't be going down on Friday.
I just hope Cult Of Personality starts playing and a man in a hoody and taped fists comes walking out backwards onto the stage, only to turn around and throw his hood back to reveal MJF, because the heat would be nuclear
As long as neither of them get involved in the nonsense the hardly boys and pointy mcpointyface get involved in I'll give it a chance.
“Are you Cornette in disguise” 😂
No, then I would have called them the dumb fucks and Kenny mcfingerbang.

They have to tease it (open challenge or something) have someone else come out then hit cult of personality when people aren't expecting it. Could be one of the best moments of the century so far (not a lot of competition...) if done right.
The challenge they have is that the crowd are going to have literally zero interest in anything else going on that night. There will be CM Punk chants through every match.
Sadly, ‘ITK’ wrestling fans do have a bad habit of spoiling these things for those at home.
I definitely wouldn’t bring him back as a heel. It just wouldn’t work. He could say absolutely anything about the fans, and there would still be no way he would get booed by anyone. It just wouldn’t work.
What ever happens he will come out as the biggest face in the business but if it was down to me I would book him as the heel with Bryan as the baby face if/when they have their program. What ever happens I hope they both have significant "creative control".
I think the Austin pop during Mankind v Rock is the loudest one ever. Worth watching it on mute and watching the fans.
No way will Punk be anything but a face, it's the money making role and the hardest position to fill.
Chicago fans will be chanting his name regardless, look at any WWE show there. Strange/disrespectful thing to do at a show, smarts are pricks.
Unfortunately everyone is smart now, which is why there are no proper heels with nuclear heat anymore. No one could get the reaction Hogan got at bash at beach now and they were booing him as a face!
The last heel that drew money by being a proper heel was Vince. Cena got more heat as a face then almost every heel in the last 20 years.
In the 30 years I’ve been watching, Vince McMahon is as good a heel as there has ever been.
He was so good that when I was younger, I didn’t believe he was the actual WWE owner. I thought it was just a title to help enhance his character.
In recent years, I thought Tomasso Ciampa was a superb heel in his storyline with Johnny Gargano. Crazy to think they’ve reversed those roles now, and unsurprisingly neither are very interesting anymore as a result.
Vince is probably one of if not the best heels ever, in any promotion. And it was by mistake because he thought he would be a baby face!
Thg best drawing matches are the main events where people think I know most of it is fake but these two really do hate each other. Vince and Stone Cold was 100% this. So was Rock Austin at 17, Bret Austin at 13, Bret HBK at 12 (even more so in 97)etc.
The NWO originally worked because it was along the same lines. The rest is probably fake but this could be real.
I hate smart fans, which Full Sail is full of, but their reaction to Ciampa added massively to the fued.
It shows how good a heel Ciampa was and how good a pure face Gargano was that even the smark arseholes at Full Sail were on the right side of the reactions at first. The fans chanting 'fuck you Ciampa' as he walked out to no music was amazing
That Ciampa turn on Gargano right at the end of that Takeover main event was stunning.
NXT at that time was untouchable.
I’ve recently started getting back into NXT, and it’s just not the same. AEW seems to have taken the unique selling point of what NXT had (the emphasis on strong matches and storylines), but added a big time feel to it.
I feel like NXT's problem at the moment is it's neither one thing nor the other. When it was developmental and lasted an hour you got good matches, decent storylines and no-one had time to get overexposed. You wouldn't see some feuds for a few weeks and that meant they still felt fresh by the time they came to a head at a Takeover. The move to try and take on AEW meant they tried to up the TV appeal but held it back so it didn't overshadow Raw and Smackdown. The result is a half-baked show that isn't quite big enough, but too big to be self-contained and separate. It's a mess basically, despite having some fantastic wrestlers and good stories. It's also clear that the people in charge don't give a shit about it and that makes it slightly harder to care yourself when you know it's all meaningless and anyone might be released right in the middle of their storyline.

Everyone knew Taz was a MSG for this so they put it on first. The sound is dialed down on the network but you couldn't hear Angle speak.

I don't think your will ever get a bigger pop than this at about 10:30 but that would be a massive waste if you did it like this

Vicky Guerrero and Eva Marie used to get crazy reactions.

Karrion Kross(c) vs Samoa Joe NXT Championship Match –
WALTER(c) vs Ilja Dragunov NXT UK Championship Match –
It's better as it's own brand than the likes of Alistair Black and Keith Lee getting buried on the main roster. It had an identity unlike the other 2.
That's the potential match of the year.
What a pop
How do i watch Rampage?
Gotta catch them all........
A great moment that will go down in wrestling history
