Really not interested in seeing Jay White in the main event picture with MJF.

Everything MJF said in that promo last week was accurate. White has all the flashy bits in his package, but when it comes down to it he’s just very generic.
What do you think of Adam Cole?
I see what you’re looking to get at here, the size and the look are not too dissimilar.  But to answer the question - I find Adam Cole a far more compelling character than Jay White.

I think that’s fairly reflected in the fact that his arrival in the company was rightfully given an PPV closing spot at Full Gear 2021, and the fact he main evented All In without looking out of place at all.

Cole has been a very successful heel in the past (his Undisputed Era reign was arguably the peak of NXT). He’s quite surprisingly a believable babyface too when he needs to be. I suspect his backstory and battles with injury lend to that a little.

Jay White/Juice Robinson both feel a little forced. It’s hard to put my finger on, because I don’t think they are ‘bad’ - they’re just bland.

In a nutshell - Adam Cole is over and feels like he has star power for the role he’s given. Jay White and his mates just don’t really incite much reaction.
  • The only difference really is Adam Cole was in WWE, hence the star power. The both have the goods bar the size, Jay is also in far better shape and his selling is exceptional. I think it's worth giving Jay a shot in the main event and see how it goes, clearly he's not going to go over so no harm done.

Swerve Strickland is someone I hope they build up to the main event, likewise Ricky Stark.
  • Christian Cage is one of the best heels in the game right now

and all it took was him reminding people that their relatives are dead.

AEW has Inoki's family in attendance at their last ppv.  :|

Jay's in-ring work is fine. As it goes, the matches they had with FTR were absolutely outstanding. But I recall not really caring too much going into it. The bell to bell action got it where it needed to be.

Swerve has the potential, but similar to Jay White, I struggle to see a scenario where he is the top player whilst the likes of MJF, Danielson, Edge, Moxley etc are around. I watched his promo with Adam Page from last week, and he seemed to struggle a little. WWE definitely dropped the ball in not retaining him though.

Agreed on Ricky Stark - he just has it.

If there is someone they really need to start moving quickly to the main event spot before the chance passes then I think its Darby Allin.

That said - nobody else can be or should be the top guy as long as MJF is doing what he is doing.
  • Cody, John Cena (!), Paul Heyman and Asuka are all on NXT next week! NXT has become a fairly decent show these days.

No idea why they're bringing so many stars in though?

It's head to head with Dynamite that has been moved.  Title Tuesday with one title, out of the 250 odd they have, on the line.
  • That's ruthless! Dynamite this week with Edge's first words drew 800k to NXT's 850k.

    Go f#%@ youself 😜

But at least Toni Storm took us to break.

Don't click on this at work

  • Toni and Rhea are the 1a and 1b best female wrestlers in America right now.
  • Watching Wrestledream Bell to Bell its excellent. The booking is all over the place.

And no that doesn't mean I think WWEs booking is better.
  • I think AEW worked better with 4 actual PPVs and then some feature shows for Dynamite and Rampage.

Now they're just throwing matches together for the sake of it, some of which works (Bry.D on a dream match tour for instance) but others are just matches to get people on the card with no stakes and no other point.

Wrestling works better when there's a story behind why two greased up dudes in trunks 2 sizes too small are trying to stick their heads up each others asses.
  • Has there ever been a wrestler so talented in the ring, yet so awful on the mic as Zack Sabre Jr?!

NXT is perhaps more over the place. There's no reason for Cena or Heyman to be there next week other than to pop a rating. If Bron was Samoan fair enough!

Loads, Bobby Eaton, Malenko, Benoit, Cesaro, etc. It's one of the main reasons for a manager.
  • Maybe Lance Storm on the list as well.

Often found it quite grating hearing thick English accents on American wrestling shows, as the accent is often so forced. Ospreay and Pete Dunne for example.

Pac gets it just right by not veering from his geordie accent.

I won’t accept any criticism of my fellow swampie Zack Sabre Jr
  • His promo before WrestleDream was laughably bad, calling Danielson "darling" and talking about submissions in Seattle
  • I'm very surprised, but lots of credible wrestling sites are saying CM Punk IS going back to WWE
  • I'm surprised by that. His initial return after 8 years was a massive event, but AEW claimed it. Although he's still a draw the shine is coming off of him. Will be a monster pop if it's a rumble surprise but as time passes and it's clear he's not the same in the ring that he was. He's also quite a divisive character back stage. I can't see it lasting too long so expect him to win the 'mania main event and become a WWE hall of famer! Shame he won't bring his title with him.

Dax Harwood has filed a copyright for CMFTR. 🤔

Remember the RAW ratings went massively up the Monday after "The first dance".  The explanation at the time was people heard Punk was "back" and assumed it was with the WWE.  Not everyone lives in the bubble.

I think the early Collisions were evidence that Pepsi Phil still has loads to contribute to the business.

There was a PLE and an AEW TV show and have the IWC are still talking about CM Punk.  They either have to have him at survivor series or be very believable that he won't be.  Can you imagine what would have happened if he hadn't turned up at First Dance?

Heyman is there for some long term story telling reasons, remember that Bron's dad amd uncle beat the Head Shrinkers in their WWF PPV debut, its revenge 😉

That's what someone will say somewhere.
  • Also the below, hopefully they'll get booked better than their first WWE main roster run.

  • Got a good feeling this Christian v Copeland blood feud is going to knock it out the park.

Edge brings the crowd up for 10 minutes, and then Christian sucks the air out of the room in just 3 words. So, so good.
  • WWE managed to have a PP... err I mean PLE last night with just 5 matches on the card, which for a non Royal Rumble style show must be some kind of record

I watched both Wrestledream and Fast Lane over the weekend, enjoyed both, wish someone would come up with a happy medium.

If you put pretty much any two of the matches from Wrestledream on Fast Lane you would almost have the perfect PPV.
