Dinner for Six

If you could have any six sportsmen, past or present to dinner who would they be.  I would go for

Sam Bartram and DEREK UFTON

Colin Cowdrey and Godfrey Evans

’Enery Cooper and Anthony Joshua

For background music and humour - Bill Bailey

Diego Maradonna, David Boon, Tony Adams, Freddie Flintoff, George Best, Andre the Giant. What a feckin party that would be. I'd probably spend the rest of my life paying for it though.

Had to google her. Would you mind setting an extra place at the table for me?

Nice one, but I think I'd have Judit Polgár instead.

She’s got a sister Lexie.  Won’t she do?  She’s probably played a bit of golf too.

So many brilliant suggestions.  I love the fact that Seth picked CB Fry as one of his.  He was one of those brilliant scholars - also a politician, academic, writer and publisher - who remains a legendary English batsman pre-WW1.  Stephen Fry, his son, told the story of how CB’s party trick, which he was able to do well into his seventies, was to stand with his back to the fireplace and jump onto the mantle piece.

Actually, inspired by other’s selections I reckon a reasonably good evening by only cricketers, for example:

    Freddie Flintoff
    David Boon
    Fred Trueman
    Keith Miller
    CB Fry
    Ian Botham

Not sure about Len Hutton though.  Might just as well include Geoff Boycott.
