Well, we have gone and done it ain't we,, we bloody well won on Sky ffs.
Thought the back four were a bit more solid with the return of Ryan, we also controlled things a bit better in midfield, although at times we seemed to be pratting about a bit too much in the link up between mid and defence, and against a better organised side we could have been robbed and turned over too easily.
Great to see Maatsen get his first senior goal, and wasn't it created and taken so well, so we have a new right winger that Nige sussed on the training ground, Stockley immense up front, in fact they all played pretty solid, so a week off and we go again next Saturday at Sunderland, a much sterner test yes, but who's to say a repeat performance and another three points can't be on the cards.

Unpopular opinion but the backheel was good, inniss just wasn't on his wavelength and didn't react like he should have.
Come on, out with it... you've been coaching our defense all season haven't you!

A good report (and video) from the Doncaster pov. Pretty damning on their performance really

For much of the season they were among the elite of deadly attacking forces but Doncaster Rovers have become maddeningly meek and mild in recent weeks.

Bogle is such a strange player. I thought he showed a few nice touches at the beginning, nice turn to get a shot away, and then he was ineffective and looked out of his depth. Tried to do things by himself and offered no threat - our defenders did not look bothered by him.

Bogle did the lovely turn but got carried away by that. Must drive managers mental. If he kept it simple, he would be a lot more use to his team.

And Amos should have been off his line in the first place to collect the ball! You watch Matthews, he is waiting for his keeper to come and collect!

Bogle doesn't have the mental application....concentration and desire for a full game.

Why doesn't Matthews take a touch and take the defender on the outside, 98/100 you will get a foul for any contract from the opposing player. It's the basic rule of defending at right back.

“[Doncaster defender Reece James] put me under pressure and I thought maybe he was going to foul me and I felt contact but I thought this was a good opportunity to get a shot off and it went in. It’s big. I was in a different position. I like to play on the right and give everything. It pays off with a goal and I’m very happy.

Cmon where is everyone who called me out for defending him playing on the right against Hull? 😂

As a defender you never ever try to dribble past anybody in your own penalty box and also the goalkeeper should call the shots in a situation like that if he shouts keeper just get out of the way if the keeper thinks he won’t make it a clear shout of away then the defender clears his lines  very basic defending at any level of the game

three vital points from a game we were expected to win .. pity that the :Lincoln game is delayed as they are in terrible form a t m..  Sunderland away is MASSIVE lol .. they're headed for top spot and we need to take something from the Stadium O L to keep anywhere near their coat tails .. Good that man mountain Innis is back and that Our Nigel is developing a good tactical formation and has had the sense to bring back Purrington to stiffen the defence.

  • I think we need 15 points from eight games to make playoffs. how many points did we get from our last eight?

I'm far from convinced it was a back heel. looked like he tried a Cruyff turn but cocked it up and the ball pinged away out of control

Tense game, mighty relieved at the result and gives a little bit of fake hope .
Donny were shit and Sunderland will give us a better idea of where we’re at .
Later results giving a quick wake up call that it’s gonna need a high points count to make it cos the league is even (load of shit )

    20%     Play offs
    75%   7th-12th
    5%    Bottom half

It makes zero difference what Amos should have done. It was a huge error by Matthews. That is a fact.

Yes, was an odd decision from Matthews. I do wonder if Amos communicates as well as he should because there is a quite frequently confusion occurring in our box. Just a thought?

Solid performance. We are so much stronger with innis.
    Pratley scares me at time.

Adjins shows we have options on the bench.

Adjiins must be our new Dutch manager?

At least he's not Belgian!

How do you know he's not Flemish?

Adkins in the postmatch - "I thought Alex Gilbey was phenomenal". I can only assume he's identified that Gilbey is suffering from a massive loss of confidence, and is trying to talk him up as a result, because phenomenal is not the word I'd have used.

I am much happier with how Adkins talks about people post-match than how Boyer did. I think in the last 12 months we've lost a few matches because Bowyer sometimes lacked people skills.
  • Gilbey was good yesterday, drove the team forward and made lots of runs into the box, and defended well. Bit rusty but it is to be expected.

Wasn’t blown with performance but a great result. Very similar to Wigan, Rochdale and Bristol Rovers away.

JFC getting the plaudits but Inniss a clear MOM for me.

That 11 and formation won’t take us into the play offs though .

Just nice to go into the weekend with a win though
You may have to get to accept that type of formation though. It was telling reading before the game of Nads quotes to the local press along the lines of we don't have the players to play the way he wants to play so he needs to find a way to play to get the best of the players he has got in a way that will win games. Big changes afoot this summer.

I know some will hold a different view, but I don't care how we play as long as we win.

Yep absolutely, too late in the season to reinvent football, win no matter how ugly it gets now. If somehow we get lucky, we rebuild and look good next season.🤞🤞🤞

I’m sorry but the blue away kit is horrendous, bland and boring.

Bowyer must have picked it!!!,  I know below the belt, only joking😜😜. But yes it’s pretty average compared to the 1st two kits.
