When I was about eleven years old, my father suggested over Easter that each member of the family picked ten teams to win games. I think he must have had a couple of beers because he put up a monetary prize that, at the time, seemed worth winning. We all made our choices. As an eleven-year-old, I brashly predicted that I would win; it was easy pickings. My mother and sister knew nothing about football, my Dad was still reliving games involving Tom Finney and Nat Lofthouse and was, therefore, out of touch. My brother only had a vague interest in football, preferring that silly game played with an oval ball. I can't remember the exact result, but it went something like Mum 8, Dad 7, Sister 6, Brother 5, Me 2. I was gutted and, I suspect, fairly obnoxious as we checked the results from our classified edition of the Evening News.
So, here we all are at Week 28. There are another fine set of games to make your three selections from. What can possibly go wrong? I'll leave you to consider your selections, but please don't be as obnoxious as an eleven-year-old
