Pleased to hear Nigel say that Darren Purse and Hayden Mullins will be the first signings this summer27

That Henry Irving's doing a great impression of Weegie !jonseventyfive said:Nigel Adkins doing a live online meeting tonight with bromley supporters club, he is basically saying very happy so far but has his own targets in mind for next season, loves it at Charlton and has complete backing for the summer window, obviously not ruling out a great end to the season (I am) generally coming over as a really nice bloke who fits in very well at Charlton.11 -
That comment about Jayden Stockley's tackle towards the end of the game last night, that enthusiastic comment, has impressed me.
Yeah I know Nigel talks a lot, but not in a Robinsonesque way, but in what can only be described so far as a good way, the right way.
I hope he can fashion a team that gets results, because despite his puppy like enthusiasm, like a lovely puppy he is very easy to like, and it would be great if he enjoyed success with us.3 -
Man does not know how to give a short answer
when asked to give a quick answer he just talks faster...

What a great evening. Thanks to Nigel for his insight. Do I think he is the right fit for Thomas........ absolutely YES!! The geezer is an inspiration, whatever happens on Sunday we are set fair for next season. Some very good answers and he comes across as a manager that will win things and do it with attractive football. Great night, thank you CAST.16

Lots of people said how Robinson was a breath of fresh air, compared to Slade and the "network" managers who went before him, at the start. Not making a comparison, just saying.seth plum said:That comment about Jayden Stockley's tackle towards the end of the game last night, that enthusiastic comment, has impressed me.

There will be a summary write up?5

Really enjoyed that. Made a few notes what was said below. Sure some of you can elaborate further than me.
Nigel said we are the oldest team in League 1 and we need fitter and younger players
On Schwartz
NA says he needs more time to settle in. He says he’ll need pre-season etc to settle in further. Not easy coming from another Country with covid etc.
In terms on young players, he’ll like to introduce young players to attend 1 or 2 senior training sessions to experience what they go through so they can learn.
James Ward Prowse and Luke Shaw are prime examples how they developed that way.
On Chuks:
He said Chucks can’t do full games due to his physicality etc which they’re working on. Can’t go into further detail due to confidentiality. Prefers to put him on 2nd half as can make an impact that way.
In terms of Gilbey and why he’s improved. As Nigel always says talking is brilliant so think he had a good chat with him.
On Stockey, he’s hoping to get him on a permanent next season. Wants his players to improve their assists to him.
On loans: Pretty much the same as before, see talented loanes from top clubs beneficial as they can make a difference. Does not like too many loans to come in. He also said some top clubs want high loan fees which isn’t great for clubs like us.
Says TS was the highlight why he chose to manage us. Turned down a few clubs as he felt were not right for him. Feels convinced something is special is going to happen.
His ambition is to manage in the Premier League and feels he can do that with us.

Great evening, could listen to him talk all night. Really enjoyed him talking through different formations and how it’s the way you play not the formation name that really matters.16

Enjoyable 90 mins. Thanks to trust for organising. Good range of questions although thought some of the poll questions were strange.5

Wonder who recruited them then ?soapboxsam said:Nigel said we are the oldest team in League 1 and we need fitter and younger players. We had to do a complete re-build, we were under an embargo, and we didn’t have any money to buy anyone.9 -
Great evening, though I wouldn’t want to be in the same room as Nigel and brownie.4

I thought it was cool he quoted Dylan Thomas.1

When he said “we have the oldest team in the division and we have to reduce that” he was including the supporter base, you are history pal. 😉Redmidland said:What a great evening. Sounded like a great evening. Thanks for the bits shared so far.Very happy about the idea of Stockley signing permanently.Maybe some people can stop going on about why Aneke isn’t being played 90 minutes after what Adkins has said tonight.10

I have never heard a manager say it's Confidential regarding a player who is in the squad nearly every week but only starts two matches in the season, yet is your top scorer.
I understand saying it's confidential if it's a depressive illness when you stay away from the club but I find Chuk's situation bizarre.
This has been on going for two seasons.
Nigel Adkins can talk for England but despite coming from the other side of the Mersey to Robinson he is easier on the ear.
Nads enthusiasm is contagious and loved hearing him praise Morgan and Stockley.
For a loan player, Jayden gives everything for the cause.
Adam Lallana is Nigel's favourite player that played under him. He was committed every day in training and his skill was a delight.

Trouble is LB insisted on playing Gunter (31), Pearce (33), Watson (35) and Pratley (36) all in the same team. If you add in Amos, Shinnie and Schwartz then that means a third of our squad was over 30.addick1956 said:
I was around then and am fully aware of the embargo etc. In fact I was one of those who bought a season ticket despite the embargo and despite Elliot and all the rest of those crooks.Redrobo said:

My point is why did we recruit old wrecks or indeed did we. 30 is not too old and neither is 27 or 26 or 23 or 18 and so on.
In fact a mix of experience and yoof is usually good.
Most of our players are under 30 . Perhaps the issue is quality, not age.0 -

Thanks very much to all who attended and enjoyed. Appreciate the sharing of notes on here and feedback.
Absolutely no truth to the rumour we've carried out a hostile take over of Bromley Addicks
The slight delay at the start was a minor technical glitch getting the star guest online.
The polls are just a bit of fun to break things up and give everyone a chance to participate.
Thought Nigel was an excellent guest and I'm well convinced by him now, having been pretty neutral at the time of the appointment. I resisted the temptation to comment on Stockley's tackle. Was a bit concerned that Nigel fell for @Pico's wicked humour and was going to get straight on the phone afterwards to Thomas to ask for a pay rise!
We'll have a full write-up out in next couple of days.

I'm happy with him saying it's confedential. We don't have a right to know everything. Chuks problem could be all number of things. Let's just hope that if he stays they can get it sorted and get Chuks on the pitch more.soapboxsam said:I have never heard a manager say it's Confidential regarding a player who is in the squad nearly every week but only starts two matches in the season, yet is your top scorer.

Thought the question about his wall was a bit cringe. Bare walls are all the rage these days. Good retort though about sitting there looking at the deer. 1-0 Nigel.4

I went out for 10 mins and made a pot of tea and Nige was still "answering" the Maddison question, although he only made reference to Maddison in the last 20 seconds.aliwibble said:Man does not know how to give a short answer

I think we could have a poll to see if the majority like the "fun" polls.
I find them utterly bizarre, cringeworthy and kind of embarrassing.
Could anyone imagine Jonathan Ross/Graham Norton/Piers Morgan interviewing let's say Tom Cruise and stopping the interview 3 times, to poll the studio audience on what time Tom Cruise gets up in the morning or some other such trivial nonsense?
Plus some question about when we will beat Millwall.
If the audience were 10 years old maybe it would be ok.
Whilst then not having time to pose over 100 questions which I surmise would be far more interesting.
Sorry for being forthright but I find it nearly as annoying as the cameraman missing the Charlton goal on Charlton TV.12
