Frustrating to be behind, primarily because that kind of level is good enough to beat two thirds of this division. Unfortunately Peterborough are on song today and are just better than us, both technically and in wit.
Many little nudges off the ball, stopped us playing the game we want to play while simultaneously getting forward and looking dangerous themselves.
Desperately need The Beast Chuks on for Stockley who just hasn't been his usual self, also get Washington on maybe for Millar, get some attack going, we need these points and at the moment, we ain't getting them. One saving grace, The Covered End second half, so come on you reds fight ffs
One class finish the difference between the teams. High class game in this league, with both teams moving the ball very well. I doubt Stockley will get the dogs abuse that Schwartz did when his (very similar) penalty was saved at Oxford. Millar looking dangerous, and JFC good when on the ball. Shame DJ went off but a good chance for Albie to shine. Watson needs to be aware of their midfield runs (which are the key to their game...) and if the full backs can keep Ward and Dembele quiet then we still have a chance to get something.
We had a period where they were all over us but turned it around towards the end. Think we’re playing alright but we just can’t match their quality up top.
Should be 2-1 to them. We are still in this for sure, BUT we need to seriously cut out the loose balls at the back - Pearce the main culprit today and need support for Stockley as he is struggling a bit vs the their back line. Millar can get their RCB sent off with a trick or two.
Half time: we’re not out of it by any means. Posh started well and fashioned a good goal. We came back into it in the last 20mins and was unlucky with the penalty. A very good save by the emergency loan signing. Need to exploit Thompson’s booking. Think Millar can get the better of him in the second half. Let’s build on the back end of that half. All to play for .... COME ON CHARLTON
2 things from that 1dt half....JFC can't cross his legs and Keith Stroud is easily one of the worst refs in this league and that is an achievement as its a pretty shit standard.
Overall think we're easily still in this game and stand a good chance provided we get the next goal
Peterborough's intensity has heavily dropped off and it feels that their aim was to come here, get the first goal and then protect it - Unfortunately for us its been a tactic that has worked very well over the last few years but its time to see what Adkins is made of as this is the first time he's had to deal with us going behind.
Desperately need to be more clinical in the final third, feels like the players are too confident after the Plymouth game with their final ball and are a little bit too relaxed almost with how they're putting the ball into the box.
Peterborough though are doing well to protect their lead - I've been critical of them for a few years for being too attack minded and having a shite defence which has cost them promotion, especially when they've moaned about having the most goals, best goal difference etc.
Of course they're going up but on this current showing it looks clear they've sorted that issue
And its the difference we need to make between this season and next if we dont go up!!
Must get Aneke on at half time, you’ve got to go with twin strikers if were to get anything out of this game when stockley wins the ball millar and DJ are 30 yards away meaning peterbourghs centre half’s are having a very comfortable afternoon

Just think we need to be braver/positive going forward.
I'm sure both will be watered

Bastard penalty save!
Captain Clean-Shorts, Matty Holland.
"Captain Clean Shorts", returns.
A player so underated by the ball watchers ...... but integral to making the team tick.
