Attempted Abduction

Hi all, my wife's a head teacher and has been made aware that there have recently been attempted abduction of girls in the Sidcup/Bexley area. An eastern European man in a black Mercedes has tried it at more than one school. There's also been similar reports from Bromley last week.

Children are being warned not to walk alone.

I’m hoping that the police are all over CCTV like a rash. Must be lots of footage near and around schools.

There is and they've got the registration number of the car used but I didn't want to post it just in case.

Absolutely shocking. What is going on? How have the police not caught anyone for the FOUR attempted abductions in the last couple of weeks in Bromley. And now we hear the same is going on in the neighbouring borough. I absolutely despair.

There were 4 attempted abductions in Beckenham, Bromley, West Wickham in the last 2 weeks.

A bit close to home this.
A couple of weeks ago an Eastern European ? man in a black van pulled up beside my Mrs, called to her and said "i just wanted to say hi" then "sorry" and drove off.

Thinking back on it we think he might have mistaken her for a schoolgirl as she was wearing her work uniform, has long hair and is quite small. We laughed at the time as she's in her 50's.
I've said she should report it as she got a good look at the driver.

Not intending to downplay in any way but the Merc story circulating yesterday I think was a girl in her 20s, not a school kid. 

Worrying none the less.

All of us should be on the lookout.
I suppose I am a bit troubled by the description ‘an Eastern European Man’. It might well be true, but nobody knows for sure because the man hasn’t been caught and identified, although perhaps something specific was said at the time of the attempted abductions that hasn’t been disclosed to the public.

Sometimes useful to say what the person looked like.

Kin el, if we were concerned and advised to be aware of an 'Eastern european' male I wouldn't get passed the fruit and veg at tescos without finding someone suspicious.
Its not 1979 and an Eastern European accent is uncommon.

There needs to be a bit more to go on as I'm sure he won't be still driving around in his black Mercedes.

Received an email earlier from our daughter's school and he's about 35/40 years of age, medium build, short black hair, & stubble.

It’s becoming a joke mate. I for one thank you for starting the thread as I have two kids at nursery at this knowledge is good to have for me and my wife.

Let's all talk about football and ignore the fact that there are a number of attempted child snatchers operating amongst us.
I really hope no one's child on CL becomes a victim through being unaware/kept in the dark on purpose.

My one about the murder of a PCSO & the photo appealing for information (in an area that is a well known Addicks fan base) which looks like being the fellow appearing in court this morning was also sunk.

This has always been more than just a football forum, more a community.

I'm also sat here scratching my head at finding this thread on page 2 and sunk.

I actually cant think of any reasons why a thread about potential abductions of children in our area would be hidden and not highlighted to make people aware. Very strange.
