Tickets for this Sunday’s final are going for extraordinary amounts of money. If you’re not sure it’s worth it, I have some thoughts that’ll hopefully put everything into perspective.
I recently celebrated a milestone birthday and, I’ll tell you… when you reach middle age, you start to contemplate the meaning of life with new found urgency. You get a real sense for what’s important.
If you know the pain of losing someone close to you, you’ll likely be familiar with this piece of wisdom: You’ll never regret the things you do, just things you didn’t do. Whilst that’s undoubtedly true, I’ll add one important caveat: If you believe… if you truly believe in something important, you can actually convince others to believe it too!
Which is why I’ll never forget the day I followed my heart and bought tickets to see Charlton v Huddersfield. Yes, I was one of the 12,500 (♾) there to see the historic 7-6 triumph.
It was 1957. And that day… hand on heart, I’ve remembered every detail of it for my entire 45 years on this planet.
Standing on the East terrace. The sites and sounds; around me, I saw so many familiar faces. In those days you could walk around the ground, from one side to the other. And on that fateful day, there was a chill in the air that seemed to mark the occasion, resulting in a dense fog over the stands that added a sense of mystery to the proceedings. A mist, if you will, rolling in from the Thames, lingering on the terraces and obscuring somewhat the multitude of faces in the crowd, making it hard to identify exact numbers. The dense mist was punctuated only by the inspired Summers popping in and out of clear view to drag us back each time the northerners went ahead.
Ultimately, that mist was quite fortuitous, as it happens. Rather than serving to fog one’s memories, conversely that magical haziness brings everything into sharper relief! Despite officials declaring attendance to be some 12,000 odd, I know from speaking to people over the years that there were tens of thousands more Addicks there that day… just as I was.
I’ll be there on Sunday too, in exactly the same way, to make more unforgettable memories; and I urge each of you to rejoice in the power of your own imagination and join me in remembering the experience just as vividly in the years to come!Unfortunately, these days you can’t rely on the fog. You’ll need a bit more proof! Just visit wembleymemories.com right now and sign up for our unbelievably inexpensive introductory members’ package. Each member will receive written testimonials from England supporters from up and down the country that will attest to celebrating England’s historic Euro 2020 finals appearance right along side you. All packages include multiple group text message screen caps, providing full, unique, one-of-a-kind backstory and up to fifteen corroborating witnesses from your choice of regions across the UK (additional fees apply for Scotland and Wales). If that’s not convincing enough, VIP packages also include three separate photos showing you at the turnstiles, on the concourses, and pitch side, as well as a souvenir programme with authentic lager stains. Upgrade at any time! For the tech savvy punter, add our blockchain package to provide irrefutable proof through a very fashionable and totally collectible non-fungible token. Out of interest, how many digits long are the access codes?
Will help tremendously in my quest to throw any old numbers in.2 -
Fans first tickets through the FA Confirmed yesterday, had to go for the souvenior ticket as it's the final and kept forgetting for the others. £88 in total. The FA have been almost faultless this tournament with organising tickets it has to be said.
Wish everyone luck who is still on the hunt for them. Would hazard a guess that a few thousand still to be released on the UEFA portal between now and Sunday, can't imagine they would have sold all of them before it was confirmed who the two finalists were.
I would advise trying on both PC and Phone, have found phone much quicker when trying for other games. Make sure you have passport numbers ready for those in your party. If you select the category and add the tickets to your basket and you get the error screen in red font, DO NOT give up, keep trying and trying, it took me 35 times of doing this to get a FF ticket for Italy Spain the other day, eventually will drop in and you have 12 mins to complete the purchase.
Good luck and come on England!2 -
If a non member like me "got through" how many do you think you could buy?0

The UEFA ticket sale will be open to anyone with a UEFA account via their ticket portal, not too late to create an account. You can get max four and all have to be in the same category.
The FA sale with access code is completely different, england members are sent a unique access code and you put that in the portal and the ticket is reserved for you. No chance of getting an access code as they are limited to one pp so don't worry about those fella.1 -
