The best selling author of gory detective fiction has died from complications of motor neurone disease aged 59. Her books were not my cup of tea but anyone who has written a series of best sellers deserves praise and respect.
She was born Clare Bastin in Epping and had a VERY interesting life. Anyone who has access to yesterday's 'Times' might enjoy reading her obituary. R I P

    Read the first few Jack Caffrey books. Lots of references to Greenwich, Lewisham, South East London and Kent.
