He can’t be rubbish because he plays for the best team in the world, but don’t get what Gabriel Jesus offers.
    He’s good on crosses.

Always willing to sacrifice himself for his teammates.

    Decent cross

You'd think his form would be more stable, especially at this time of year

Hes been isolating in a manger
  • Brighton are a decent side and are a striker away from moving up the league. Mitròvic or the Canadian guy from Lille maybe? Maupay is a pest but he’s not gonna lead a line in the Prem.

Comfortable win for City. Don’t think Brentford had a shot from 20 mins onwards. City will walk the title. If City don’t win the treble they have underachieved. No team are anywhere near their level.

10 wins in last 11 matches. On course for another huge points total this season. Most Sir Alex ever got was 91 points. City will probably surpass that again this season for the 3rd time.
  • I’m getting a bit pissed off with managers bawling out the referee after the game.
Not sure what Franks wanted from the ref there. I’d understand it a bit more if the ref had a stinker, but he didn’t. He didn’t do anything wrong really.
But this is happening at the end of a lot of games and the ref just has to stand there and take it.

Can't argue with the job he's done at Brentford but personally i think he comes across as a bit of a bell end.

  • Franks reminds me of William Dafoe

  • Perception, foden seems further forward because of where his hand is.

Although both are so close I'm sure VAR was for clear and obvious mistakes.

How could a ref call this and it be called a mistake

Clear and obvious mistakes on a refs opinion. This is a fact - one is offside and one is not.

  • An offside line is a fine margin by its very definition.

But VAR for involved for both

  • All this measuring to the millimetre on where the defender / forward are, but none at when the ball is actually kicked.

If the ball is only slightly over the goal line but the ref thinks not, should the goaline technology not give the goal as it is not a clear error by the ref?
It is a fact - the ball was over the line.
This is a fact - the player was onside/offside

a contact between two players being a penalty is an opinion but can be clearly and obviously wrong in some cases.

Its only a fact the player was onside/offside because of VAR giving that decision.

  • Tuchel again moaning tonight about covid and injuries.

Their lineup tonight had 11 full internationals with 7 more on the bench. Lukaku alone cost more than the entire Brighton team.

Asked whether their title hopes are over, an exasperated Tuchel replied: "How should we be in it?"

The German manager explained: "We have seven Covid cases. We have five or six players out for six or more weeks. How should we compete in a title race?

This guy is chatting utter bollocks. There's no way they had 12-13 players missing last night. Only ones who were out that might have started were Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Werner. They had 2 subs (Ziyech and Havertz) who cost over 100m combined who didn't even get on the pitch.

He's clearly feeling the pressure for the first time since becoming their manager and isn't handling it very well.

Had lounge seats for me and my son at the Brentford game that were offered to us. Needed the fix of festive football, new ground ticked off, and City are a pleasure to watch regardless whom you support.

    Positives.
    Easy access from the station.
    Well organised.
    Staff are polite.
    Free booze at half time.
    Very good programme

Then there are not negatives but more about the bizarre. In saying this it may be that the premiership is now completely different, or we have gone there as neutrals {although we did want City to win).
2 pints of Peroni £13…ok we are not getting pissed here.
The build up is ok, although you have this feeling that Eddie Hearn might have been consulted about it, with the light show, the players talking on the screen, maybe it’s modern day football, but not for me.
You get free booze at half time, slipped down five minutes before half time as you do, beers all lined , tops off ready to go, but you can’t get one until the ref blows for half time then it’s one per person(ok mate).
Good atmosphere from both fans, they have done a good thing with the new stadiums keeping the pitch close to the stands, good music to get the fans going, but then there was always this feeling in the back of my mind where was this support  at Griffen Park.
The ground only holds 17,000..with 2,000 away fans we would create a better atmosphere.
Some of the fans at Brentford, are cringy as well as do not have a clue about football.
Standing at the station slagging off City fans, they bought the league, you have never won the champions league (as the trophy is sat in the Brentford boardroom) choruses of “where were you when you were shit” oh the irony.
City plying the ball around the pitch with chants of “ Boring boring City”
Quote of the night from a Brentford fan to a City fan, “ Jack Grealish is a Villa fan, he don’t like you he is only with you for the money”
If the bloke was offered a job that trebled his money I can see him now.. “ No it’s fine I like it where I am”
Fair play to Brentford they had a go in the first half, but at the same time if they carried on playing like that City were going to pick them off and hit another 4, so Brentford elected to get 10 men behind the ball.

    City will be champions.
Brentford should be ok, only because there are three to five teams that will never make the points up to go above them after there good start to the season
Ground is ok, nothing major, seen better but seen worse.
    Well organised.
Fans are the typical modern day, premiership fan, personally as mad as it sounds, I prefer to keep out the premiership, although there is the money, some of the best players in the world nothing beats the Valley on a Tuesday night with your mates, going to get a beer when I want, pushing and shoving to get a piss rather than forming an orderly que and to wash your hands with Melton Brown hand cleaner and a lotion after to make your hands all nice and soft.

  • “where were you when you were shit” - love that from Brentford who as recently as 10 years ago averaged crowds of 5k.

An incredibly whingey set of managers in the league atm.

Don't tell him your name Chris.
  • Just seen a great stat.

Mo Salah who is having a superb season and is way out on his own as top scorer is averaging a goal every 113 minutes.

Sergio Aguero averaged a goal every 108 minutes. Across an entire decade.
    Blokes on another level

Was Tuchel aware of a global pandemic in the summer?
Was Tuchel aware of the fixture list dates and the competitions Chelsea were in?
Has Tuchel let 22 Chelsea players go out on loan?

    Do I give a flying f*(k?
  • Nonsense hearing Tuchel/ Klopp moaning about lack of players with the amount of depth they have. Loved Leicester beating Liverpool with pretty much a second string, they can make excuses and too many matches but when it comes to Champions league midweek games they have never complained. EFL teams are playing through it pretty much with less resources it, just get on with it! Really disliking both managers of late, ok when they are winning but now they have hit a bad spell and City showing their depth. Wankers

Still would like City to go out and get a proper striker, will be even more convincing
  • I am starting to see why PSG sacked Tuchel, he makes a lot of bizarre team selections and is a bit of a spoilt brat when things go against him and his team, his jumping up and down side line tantrums are embarrassing .. Chelsea are on the slide and last might Citteeehhh  looked a shade tired and stale .. Citteehh though have the playing resources to freshen up the team ..

be interesting to see which of the 'big clubs' splash the cash in January .. as I don't follow much of what goes on in football outside the UK, I have no real idea who's hot and who's not .. hot or not, you can bet whoever is brought in will be overpriced and probably overrated .. never underestimate the sales spiel of an agent on the make
