That is absolutely awful timing - poor bloke. He's had a history of injuries but surely none as brutal as that. I can't remember the last time someone was leading in such a high profile scenario and having to retire.
5th Grand Slam in a row where Dimitrov has had to retire through injury.
- Wimbledon '24 4th round: 3-5 v. Medvedev - US Open '24 quarter final: 3-6 7-6 3-6 1-4 v. Tiafoe - Aus Open '25 1st round: 5-7 1-2 v. Passaro - French Open '25 1st round: 6-2 6-3 2-6 0-0 v. Quinn - Wimbledon '25 4th round: 6-3 7-5 2-2 v. Sinner
I'm going tomorrow, shame this match wasn't a day later!
At least you'll get better weather. Even if you have tickets for Centre or No 1, it'll still nice to see play on the outside courts as well
Would have loved to but was hosting for work and my clients stuck to centre court. Was a cracking day still. Started at 10am with a little tour and walk down the tunnels at Court 1 and Centre Court. Very lucky.
Sinner having a few issues with his arm from the injury he got in the last match. Playing better though. Won first set in a tie break 7 - 6. Wouldn't surprise me if it will end up being a tie break in the second set due to Shelton having a powerful serve.
Sinner wins in straight sets. Much more his type of performance compared to his last match. Shelton makes far too many mistakes for a top ten player. Relies heavily on his serve from the few matches I've seen of him.

I had a ticket for Centre Court. Turning up is still a thing and there were people queuing when I arrived at 9.30am
