A break up but Tjen looks like an emerging player - one to watch. Obviously has already beaten Kudermetova. She runs round her backhand a lot - her backhand being anywhere near as good as her forehand would reduce leaving the court so open at times - which Raducanu is jumping on (so far)
Definitely. So, next up Rybakina or her opponent who would have to play pretty damn well to beat Rybakina. I wish if Raducanu had to play a seed, which would be likely in R3, it was top 30 or top 20, but I think they way she is playing at the moment, that she has chance. Especially if she serves as well as today
Raducanu playing her best tennis since her US Open win, IMHO. She seems to be getting on really well with the new coach and talked about “lots of practice” in her post-match interview. Great to see her looking confident, determined and happy
Such a shame but not totally unexpected. He was clearly defending lots of points from last year, but especially with the congested scheduling, they are all having to make sensible decisions to sit back when necessary

Must be bad to drop out of a Grand Slam tournament. If you possibly could you'd play.

Depends on the definition of 'if you could you'd play' - you could do long term damage
Norrie beats Comesana in four sets and will play Djokovic in the third round.
Thurs: - Fearnley v Zverev Fri: - Raducanu v Rybakina - Norrie v Djokovic
Could be the case that there’s no Brits left in the singles draws by the weekend. Will be relying on the doubles again.
Do you think Radcanu has a chance against Rybakina? She's playing well but I'm not sure how in form Rybakina is. Obviously she is no. 9 seed for a reason, but I think our ER has a chance

Men’s:
- Draper (5th seed) path: R1 qualifier -> R2 Bergs -> Diallo -> R4 Musetti -> QF Sinner -> SF Zverev -> F Alcaraz
- Fearnley path: R1 Bautista Agut -> R2 Zverev
- Norrie path: R1 Korda -> R2 Michelsen -> R3 Djokovic
Of the male Brit qualifier hopes, only Billy Harris remains and will play Coleman Wong for a main draw spot.
Women’s:
- Raducanu path: R1 qualifier -> R2 Kudermetova -> R3 Rybakina
- Boulter path: R1 Kostyuk -> R2 Sonmez -> R3 Keys
- Kartal path: R1 Haddad Maia -> R2 Boisson -> R3 Svitolina
Of the female Brit qualifier hopes, only Francesca Jones remains and currently leads Arianne Hartono 6-2 0-1 for a main draw spot.
Unfortunately Billy Harris was beaten in straight sets, leaving just Draper, Fearnley and Norrie in the main draw on the men’s side.
Her second round opponent will be Indonesian qualifier Tjen, who beat 24th seed Kudermetova.
Only just realised that prior to the draw, Raducanu was the 33rd highest ranked player and thus just missed out being seeded.
Draper a set up against Federico Gomez.
Fearnley still to come.
Draper v Bergs
Norrie v Comesana
Raducanu v Tjen
Fearnley v Zverev/Tabilo
First set Raducanu with a second break
She’s jumped from 36 up to 33 in the live rankings. A few players bunched just ahead of her. Another win would catapult her into the top 30.
Thurs:
- Fearnley v Zverev
Fri:
- Raducanu v Rybakina
- Norrie v Djokovic
