MacG: 5 Not convinced at all. Goalies' vision is often blocked but he was leaden for the first goal. A well placed shot but not a strong shot. Matthews: 5 He's not offering enough on the ball. Seems to fade as the game goes on. Did produce one excellent recovery tackle 2nd half. Lacks defensive cover to be fair. Lavelle: 5 Prodded the ball back to matey for their 3rd goal. Tried to play out from the back and isn't a complete mug but ultimately came up short. Famewo: 6 Lots of very commanding bits. Looked strong, brought the ball out really well (one particularly good surging run) and was fouled a lot. But...came up short, just like Lavelle. Purrington: 6 Did ok. Tried to get us moving forwards and did his bit defensively. Clare: 5.5 Tried hard enough. Fed Leko well early on but probably switched off late on when the game was in the balance. Very right-footed. Watson: 5.5 Didn't do a lot wrong but ultimately faded. Probably should've been stronger in the tackle before the 2nd goal. 4 games in 10 days is too much for some of the younger ones it seems, let alone him! Lee: 5 Tried his best but resorted to falling over looking for free-kicks (which would've been shit anyway). His corners and free-kicks were crap. Leko: 7.5 Burnt past defenders on the right consistently and was a real problem for Bolton. Wouldn't surprise me if they put him on their wanted list after that because he was a menace. Going to be a very important player for us this season and at least he tries to entertain us. Davison: 7.5 Held it up well and scored a decent goal. Really good effort and nearly added a second goal. I've always rated him after his two games v West Brom and he fully deserves an extended run now. CB-T; 5.5 Did ok for a while but really blew out 2nd half. Left Matthews to cope on his own. Hopefully, 90 mins will serve him well for future games. People can surely see now why he wasn't risked for longer v Portsmouth.
