A fine musician leading an incredible band.  I heard the Chieftans for the first time in the late 70's on John Peel and was entranced.

Wasn’t just his role leading The Chieftains, Paddy was responsible for so much involving Irish folk music, from running & producing for Claddagh. Rest in a peaceful air Paddy.
