Best roast I had in London - Galvin La Chapelle - wasn't 'that' expensive for the quality of food on offer. Or locally - The Castle at Eynsford - haven't been post-covid though. If you want to go a little further afield, The Kentish Hare in Tonbridge Wells or The Corner House at Canterbury is well worth the drive.
Plume of Feathers in Greenwich was always good mate. Not sure about now though
Remember the landlady used to have some really nice bar maids in
there, I think they studied drama somewhere, but there was one called Skye, I
was only about 20 odd at the time and really liked her. After she left the pub (siting harassment
or something. God knows who by??), she went on to do quite well and I see her
on the TV a couple of times over the years
I went to The Pier in Upnor over the weekend. XXL roast beef and all the trimmings was £13.50. Bargain and the food was very nice. You need to book though.
The Knowle Country House Higham Rochester. This one takes some beating, nice setting too. You might find yourself sitting in the car for half an hour after leaving to fully recover. Particularly if you have sampled the quite extraordinary dessert trolley! They only do Sunday Lunch during the winter season as they are wedding event specialists during the summer. I have found you need to book a couple of weeks in advance. A little pricey but not OTT by any means.
My parents during lockdown used to get a takeaway one from the Italian on the corner of longlands road /halfway st. Meant to be lovely.
Toscana - the wife and I are going there on Sunday
Just looked it up on the interweb - the menu has loads of options, which puts me off a bit, as I wonder how on earth can they cook all these different meals to a decent standard - I prefer a small menu, as generally I have found the food to be very well done
But you have experience of this Italian - am I wrong in this case ?

The Boathouse in Danson Park does a great Sunday Carvery
Cutty Sark, Greenwich
Are all decent and pretty well priced
Part of The Savoy of course.
