Got someone round to check over this afternoon, seems according to most that we've got a clogged particulate filter.
Anyone had this replaced or even better repaired? Been trying to get an idea of what sort of price we might be looking at before the mechanic tries to pull a fast one.
anyone know someone that will weld an exhaust bracket on Honda CRV bexleyheath area
My Father in Law is based in Welling and does quite a bit of welding at he's garage. He is really busy at the moment, but will check if he could squeeze you in
Cheers, I think I actually mean an egr valve but that rac website looks handy.
No direct experience but reading around it seems there's again the possibility of clearing it yourself at full revs if not tried already. Otherwise Cleaning it (obviously cheaper option) then replacing it may be required. Replacement cost up to £450 apparently depending on labour costs.

Looked into that as an option, had a quote to supply and fit a new one at £170 so at least I know what they should be quoting me roughly when they come if that's what the problem is.
The DPF needs to have a decent run 20-30 miles or so to clear the shit out, sometimes a man with a computer needs to clear the fault afterwards. Its the problem with diesels and doing short trips

Cheers mate
Turns out it's the O2 sensor which unfortunately is seized up so they didn't want to force it in case it caused more damage than good, going to soak the fuck out of it with WD40 for the next couple of days and hopefully I'll be able to change it myself. If not then it'll have to go into a garage. Annoying as I need it sorting soon as.
