You are supposed to put threads like these in “Marketplace” if you don’t admin move them for you. Aliwibble normally does this.

Most builders and companies I've dealt with of late in the area have been unreliable in their commitment and communication.

Likely because most have plenty of work with more people at home and not spending on holidays etc.

    They  just aren’t chasing jobs.

They’re able to avoid jobs. We’ve been trying to get a couple of patios laid in our garden. We have a pond at the house end of the garden and want it filled in and a raised one built at the end as part of the patio. One bloke quoted well over what you’d expect but we can’t even get anyone else interested in doing it. Apparently there’s so much work about that builders can pick and chose what they do and either not bother with a job that’s a bit of a ball ache or quote a stupid price to put people off. We’ve given up looking now and will try again next year.
