RIP Dean Stockwell

Died aged 85 on 7th November.
I loved him as Al in Quantum Leap.
Had no idea he was part of the Battlestar Galactica I caught up with over lockdown.
He had a huge career.

Thanks for the entertainment Sir! ❤️

I had a great idea for a QL reboot script and wanted Universal to buy it off me and make it before Dean passed away. Damn.

QL is my all time favourite TV show. Incredible what they managed to do each week. Stockwell was at the heart of it. Really sorry to see him go.

RIP.  Great film actor as well.
  • Was in a Columbo episode that I watched on Sunday.
Fantastic laid back style of acting.

Always loved Quantum Leap and saw a couple again recently. A bit dated now, but a great basis for stories. Rest in Peace Dean.

    Oh no! R.I.P. Dean!

Strangely, I had just received my copy of Quantum Leap season 5 on DVD, to complete my set.

I loved him as Tony 'The Tiger' Russo in Married To The Mob, too.

It's Tony, hey, Tony, no phony baloney "The Tiger"

Loved Quantum Leap and also really enjoyed that film. RIP

Saw him recently in Gentleman's Agreement (1946). He was just a kid but he put in a performance as Gregory Peck's son which was totally believable - charming without being schmaltzy. He was also in Compulsion which was a film that made huge impression on me when I was a teenager largely because of his great but chilling performance. Thanks for the memories, Dean

Quantum Leap was great and covered stuff that would make the woke generation proud.  Entertaining but thought provoking.

Quantum Leap was great at times, always thought he was much more important to it than Scott Bakula, as he brought a sanguine humour to the show.  The episode where Sam meets Stephen King, and I think I remember right the Devil as well was awesome:  Though not sure if Dean Stockwell was in that episode much!  Also great in Dune and Blue Velvet.

    RIP
  • Anyone remember Sons and Lovers which he stared in,1960 from the D H Lawrence Novel.Although he accent was not Nottingham he was very good.Brilliant Film in Black and White. He must be the last actor from the film, apart some small bit parts may still be around. It was that film that first got me liking D H Lawrence.Went to see his houuse in Eastwood.

I think it was a TV show squashed together and whacked onto VHS. Much like The Stand was.
  • I’m multitasking whilst listening to Bruv & found a Quantum Leap episode.
Scott Bakula is currently stuck in a life raft with Brooke Shields.
Lol it was always so random 🤩

They went a bit loopy in the final season. And that’s why it was the final season!
