1. My first record player was a wind up gramophone with a load of old 78s (yes, really). At five years old (1970), I absolutely loved sitting in the back room of my mum's shop playing these. Many of these were old Sousa marches like Liberty Bell - that'll be the Monty Python Theme to most of you. I think the newest record I had back then was Elvis' All Shook Up. They'd probably be worth a few bob now. Back then they were just old junk to let a kid play with.
2. Hell Raiser - The Sweet. So pleased with that choice even today.
3. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd.
4. Sign Your Name - Terence Trent D'Arby
5. Any of those deadly dull cover versions of decent records that they use for Christmas adverts. Probably Mad World is the best (worst) example of this sort of stuff. It really grates as well when this great song is wrongly credited to Gary Jules.
