give the board/management/club its due

we were relegated, they've got what most us probably think is the best management team in place to get us back up again, they've cleared out a a large chunk of the premiership wage playing staff, got a fair bit of cash in at the same time and pards has brought in the sort of player that's got us all thinking the battling charlton of a few years ago are back and could be up for it...there's been no fallout except over the women's team of all things and the regret over the redundanies of non-playing staff and everybody is singing from the same hymn book...this is back to the valley stuff...

and there was a better option at that moment in time ?
  • cheap option, they tried to get away with it,found out, sadly to late what was going through there minds appointing that inept doughnut.
  • 'that inept doughnut' helped mastermind our unexpected rise to the premiership in the first place...hindsight's a wonderful thing but before the kick off at reading his name was being chanted in the pub as charlton's saviour and nobody seemed to be criticising the board for appointing him at that point...

Agreed, there was nobody else around unless we went down the "proven failure" route of O'Leary etc....Reed was a decent man who got given an impossible task and failed, no shame in that although people should be ashamed at some of the treatment he has copped from so called fans. Reed can't be held responsible for the attitude and ineptitude of the Bling merchants, incompetents and mediocre shite that Curbishley and Dowie left him with.
  • we would have chanted anyones name.. and the only reason we chanted so vigerously in the pub was because someone came up with...

all you need is reed.. der der der der der... which was well catchy lol

you can become a hero in a minute at charlton if someone finds a gd song for ya
