Charlton in for French hardman

edited July 2007 in Rumours
CHARLTON are preparing a free transfer raid for Nice hard man Cyril Rool, the dirtiest player in French football history.

Addicks boss Alan Pardew believes the former Lens and Monaco player would beef up his midfield for a promotion push - despite the 32-year-old's record 20 red cards in his career.
Pardew's back-room team have enquired about Rool, who is available on a free.
The midfielder has also attracted interest from Norwich, although the Canaries would struggle to afford his hefty pay-packet.
In 25 games last season, Rool was sent off once and booked a dozen times - but his physical game would probably be more suited to England than France.

We used to sing 'Nice One Cyril' to Cyril Davies, our Welsh U-23, back in the 70's. ;-)
