It’s set in 1558, largely in Canterbury.
It’s called ‘The Dying of the Fire’ by G H Rehling.

No, I found a small publisher who liked it, and made a contribution to the costs to limit their risk. I think it's called subsidy publishing. I looked into getting an agent but no one seems to be accepting submissions (Covid, I imagine), so I decided to just get on with it.
It's been a reasonably smooth process, to be fair.

Have just finished the shardlake series, perfect timing!

Hands up: there’s one misprint in it. A pint for the first person to spot it. Hint, it’s on p250.
