Stay strong Ben and keep fighting. Enjoy many more performances from the boys like the one you saw last Tuesday. All best wishes and prayers from SW France.
Ben. All the best to you, Garry and the rest of your family as you battle through this. Great to see you were able to enjoy such a brilliant night at the Valley on Tuesday, and no surprise to see Tracey at the heart of it all.
Evening everyone, I am Ben Jay's dad. He has asked me to express his thanks for your overwhelming support in his tough fight. I can honestly say your messages are having an impact as he is enjoying reading them. He sadly couldn't make today's game v Cambridge, but it was good to see his smiling face when he woke from his nap to see another great win from the team. Thank you again. COYR.
Ben, you've been given an important responsibility. You now own the official captain's armband, following the last game. This means that you are entirely responsible for Charlton's win in Saturday's game against Cambridge United. So, look after the armband. And make sure you know that everyone is willing you on. Because the result of Saturday's game is solely in your hands - or, on your arm. Wear the armband with pride. And make sure you keep positive and send positive thoughts to JJ and the team.
It's possible that JJ may make a late switch and choose someone else to be Captain instead of you. But, until then, we are all relying on you to keep up the positive thoughts and to do everything in your power to make sure Charlton gets another three points on Saturday.
Finally, I want to say a quick 'thank you' to you, for Saturday's win, which will be completely down to you. (Of course, you're absolutely allowed to blame anyone else if it turns out don't win on Saturday).
Thank you for the three points today, Captain Ben. Three more on Saturday at Plymouth, please.
It would not surprise me one bit if Jacko is holding you up in that dressing room as an inspiration to all the players. Your story is inspiring and the amount of effort they are putting in in recent weeks has been fantastic.
