I think it's a first, as this week we have two jackpot winners. Both
@Bods64 and
@Tutt-Tutt were both in the upper echelons of League Two but by scoring 10 points they have been catapulted into the division Thomas Sangaard hopes Charlton are playing in soon. Congratulations to both! They picked the Brentford v Watford, Charlton v Cambridge and Sunderland v Plymouth games and, of course, got the scores bang on.
It was a high-scoring week, the highest this season, with 25 predictors scoring 5 or more and over half scoring 3 or more. Of course, two games spoilt the chance for even higher scores, as the games at Brighton and Sheffield United were called off. The Monday Sheffield United fixture was particularly disappointing as there was no opportunity to pick a replacement game. However, Michael Masi ruled that anyone who picked this game will score 10 points, which would have stopped
@oohaahmortimer in his tracks at the top. Masi's decision was put to the CAS on appeal, who passed it on to the Court for Ruling and Arbitration in Predictions (CRAP, for short), who overturned the decision and awarded no points if you picked the Sheffield United game.
The in-form and out-of-form competitors lost their titles this week.
@paulie8290's run of scoring 2+ points for six weeks came to a grinding halt, which means that
@Beardface takes over that honour. At the same time,
@meldrew66 not only got rid of the longest streak scoring 1 or less but did so with a fine 5-point score.
@ThreadKiller after a fantastic start to the season now takes over that unwanted title.
It's the last week before the entrants to the Prediction Cup are decided. Remember, all competitors up to and including 12th in the National League South are included in the draw for the 1st Round of the Prediction Cup, which starts in January. However, where there is a tie on points, alphabetical order is not used, but the most recent higher score achieved between those tied on points will count. Hopeful Harriet, Pessimist Pete and Follower Fred will be taking part in the Cup for the first time. Follower Fred is in storming form.
