Spent a fair amount of time last night watching various clips from her long and brilliant career. RIP Betty.
Last surviving cast member of the Golden Girls and the Mary Tyler Moore Show, ground-breaking TV host in the early 1950s, when she refused to back down in the face of complaints from Southern TV affiliates for having a black man as a regular cast member (the show did get cancelled a short time later), supported equal marriage rights, a much loved entertainer.
I could go on, genuinely funny, with wonderful timing, already being missed, but I'll leave just a few of the clips that I watched last night instead...
Does anyone know what the programme is in the first clip, the one with the English girl
@Todds_right_hook, I think it's a series called Hot in Cleveland, assuming the English actress is Jane Leeves (Frasier), which ran from 2010-2015 on a station called TV Land (me neither).
I'm gobsmacked that I forgot to mention Lake Placid (where she and Brendan Gleeson, IMHO, stole the show) and The Proposal...

"Why do people say grow some balls? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding."
