This is just what you would expect vested interests to do, as they do in all sorts of industries. They are entitled to say what they want, but they shouldn't be decision-makers.
I do think Lisa Nandy gets it because I've heard her speak about her own involvement with Wigan Athletic as the local MP. She's not really a football fan and doesn't pretend to be, but she has understood what a professional football club is to local people. On that basis, she's a good person to have behind the bill.
