Have we scored a goal from outside the penalty area this season?

I can't think of an intentional goal, as want to exclude any free kicks that were meant for a cross (remember one between Lee/Stockley).

Think Washington's chip against Morecambe was from outside the box, albeit still one on one

He was no more than about 15 yards out

It is an issue for us though. You need to have a variety of threats as it is harder for teams to contain you.

Can't think of any. Not from long range in any case. I'm sure someone will pipe up with "x player did against y team" and it was an inch outside the box.

    No free kicks. No piledrivers.

We haven’t had a decent free kick taker for years .

Shinnie and Forster-Caskey scored last season from them - Agree in the sense that even if they lined one up, you wouldnt be confident like you would with Jackson or Kermorgant
  • Very rarely have shots outside the area….which is why the club are working on a new midfield.

All of those were from inside the box, maybe apart from Washington's one on one.

It is quite rare to get to February without having score directly from a free kick or a strike outside the box!

Elliot Lee vs Doncaster (h) was outside the box wasn't it?

Mentioned that in the original post - As the match report says, "Elliot Lee's inswinging free-kick bypassing everyone in the box en route to goal"

Two extremely good, close long-range cracks in the first half alone (and one from Gilbey that was blocked). They read CL I swear

CBT’s would have been some goal.

Inconclusive. His momentum could have taken him into the box after he hit it.

    There's been three.

    Lee v Doncaster (H)

    Washington v Rotherham (H)

    Washington v Morecambe (A)

Leko v Fleetwood (A) was very close but just inside the penalty area.

  • Hit the target and we may get the rebound ….
morgan and CBT were pretty decent but felt a minuscule too much fade that took em wide but that’s what we want some more potshot pingage please

Maybe you thought the ref scored?
