Just a quick update, I have heard from John today and he is, as Roy said, making as good a recovery as can be expected.  

In his own words, 'it's a very slow comeback from a 14 hour operation, but I will be back stronger'. 

He is very aware of the support and thoughts from the Charlton family, he had a personal message from Jason Euell before the Op. 

So the news is as good as it can be for now and let's hope it's not too long before he is on here bickering with the best of us and prepping for film reviews!

Just a quick update from John today who is continuing to recover, though it may well be some time before he posts on CL yet, he is aware of all your thoughts and wishes. 

Hello mate . I’m still in hospital. We’ve had a couple of set backs and at the moment I am waiting to start eating to see if everything works . I’m going stir crazy but hope to be out sometime next week.

I am hoping to pop up and see him mid May all being well.
