  • Not able to do this this year, but if there is a CL group link for donations/sponsorship would be happy to contribute (or via main funding link)
  • Looking forward to tomorrow, I’ve been fortunate enough to be an ever present on every Upbeats Walk so far but tomorrow will be nice as it’s the first time one of my kids will be joining me. He’s been wanting to do it for the last few times but I thought it would too much for him. i’ve relented this year and he’s really looking forward to it.

i don’t think there’s ever been 200 do the walk and very much expect to see mainly the same faces again tomorrow. Hope so, as it’s always a pleasure.

If anyone would like to put any sponsorship our way on the link below I’m sure my boy would be thrilled.

    Great! see you both there.

Going out tonight and trying to keep it sensible on the drinking front as the walk with a hangover (albeit it's been done before) is not as enjoyable!

Looks like it should be ok weather wise too!
  • I know so many who do it, I always just donate straight to the CACT website.
So I’m sponsoring you all & I think you’re all blooming marvellous 🤩♥️
  • Can’t seem to find anywhere what the start time is, just that registration opens at 8.15.

Im assuming about 9, but does anyone know?
  • Sadly cannot walk this year, but will sponsor, always a good day.

    Also looking for that too!
  • Saw on Twitter briefing is 8.45 so guess I’m roughly right with 9ish. See you soon.

After a 9 mile warm up, I need that food.

It was a bit off telling walkers to leave the lower north when some were still eating.

I reckon @paulie8290 would be better than half of the shower playing to be honest!

A very enjoyable day catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones, ok most them wanted to meet Bowyer but I’m nicking some of his glory.
Highlight of the day for me…..
Introducing @Redmidland to a member of staff as my “Dad” and just for a moment she believed me! 😂😂😂
  • Brilliant day, loved it.

Pleasure to be apart of and hope some of you picked up the hard copy of the evaluation report.

Yann still looking as if he could play now, what a man.
  • Nice. Well done all.

  • Having watched that video, I feel there’s a need for a steward’s enquiry, as the red group seemed to have gone on a different route to the green group, as we didn’t walked pass the hospital.

Where did you go then? We all should’ve walked passed the hospital from the Lido along Haha Road, down towards the ferry.

We walked straight down Shooters Hill rd to the Lido, then down Meridian road to Charlton Park.

Yes, due to being so far ahead of everyone else, the front of the red group went through Hornfair Park. Staff at the Lido also were not quite ready for us so had to go on a slight detour. But I still don’t understand how you didn’t go passed the hospital if you went passed Charlton Park and along Haha Road?

We did go pass the hospital, I meant Barker / Stadium rd, which I saw in the video and took it you walked all the way down that road, we never went along those roads.

Yes so the only difference is you went all along Shooters Hill whereas the red group went through Hornfair Park because we were ahead of schedule. You still walked 9 miles, the red group just walked just that little bit more.

Raised the highest total ever £36000.00. Well done everybody who took part.                   Edit should have read the thread before posting, just received an email from CACT.
