The US Soccer Federation has reached a deal to pay the men's and women's national teams equally through to 2028. Furthermore any World Cup prize money will be pooled and shared out equally.
Quite a landmark decision I think. I wonder if there'll be repercussions throughout the World?

This is why the USA women made their stand for equal pay. They are so much more successful than the men in competition and generate more money.
In the UK, it a totally different ball game despite it growing exponentially over the last two decades with the advent of Professional female footballers and the Professional WSL.
Until or unless the wages drop because the Multi billionaire and behemoth ownership behind men's football are hit hard and for instance the Middle East oil money dries up or Russian dirty money also is stopped
(The odious Abramovich paid all the bills a year ahead that's is why Chelsea have managed to stay afloat and they were swimming in cash and win 19 trophies) then it just won't happen in England or the rest of the UK.
The 15 year old girls at the Man city academy who go on to play for England will earn so much more than Lucy Bronze who at 30 has been a Professional Footballer for a decade.
Equal pay with men can't happen unless 60k want to watch Women's football for a League match not just the sell outs at Wembley we are going to see this Summer in the women's game.
Despite the equal pay committed to by the FA, the money England’s male and female players can earn from major tournaments differs enormously because of the gender disparity in prize money offered by FIFA and UEFA.
The 2 grand earned per match by our male internationals is just chicken feed compared to the 6 figure weekly income earned from their clubs, and is donated to charity.
The average salary in the Woman's Premier league is £30,000. So its only fair the men should be earning the same.
Professional sport came about because people wanted to watch it, and were prepared to pay. The level of pay is then reflected in the level of public interest.
Football, baseball etc players at the top level, in general, receive a very high level of remuneration because so many people want to watch, either live or on TV.
When men and women contribute to the same end product, of course, equal pay makes sense ... but equal pay 'just to be fair' when the product is not deemed equally interesting to the viewing public (Source: attendance figures of men's and women's football) cannot be right.
When we have mixed teams, as is the case in other spheres, then I look forward to equal pay. Meanwhile 'good luck' to the USWNT, especially if they are 'more interesting' to the viewing public than the Men's team. But this precedent shouldn't be regarded as the norm for all others.
But it doesn't make it true for all other women's teams. So, it's not about equal pay reflecting gender equality ... it's about the value of the product.

The reason men's football is the biggest money spinner in town is because it is at the very highest standard..And arguably the most entertaining sport event.Enter Wokeworld and we are trying to fool the public into thinking we MUST be eager to watch third rate cack aka women's football and have the same passion for this as we have for the men's game.

Prize money is however generally paid in direct proportion to that which is offered by the governing bodies. The USA however, has unilaterally decided to share that too. I wouldn't be surprised if others follow, governments like to be seen as having no gender bias.
Club football is like any other job. Money is offered - or you negotiate for more. Take it or leave it. I can't see that changing.
At the 2022 world cup, the US men will get $9 million even if they go out in the group stage.
So whilst the women are undeniably more successful (and likely always will be), how are they generating more money?
