Could be wrong, not checked, but remember having Gary Neville in my dream team because he scored from pens.
Presume you didn’t do too well…

As he is a big unit I assume he is a full Nelson rather than a half one.
    Mandela Towers, Del.

Also, he took penalties at New York Red Bulls according to Wikipedia, which is unusual for a right back.
Bob Curtis and Gary Neville spring to mind.
    Gary Neville?!  Don't remember that.

Denis Irwin (and Steve Bruce) as defenders at United yes, but Neville?

Nelson Vivas was a right back taking a penalty that I remember fondly.
Lee Dixon took them for Arsenal sometimes.
  • Normally a good sign when a manager brings along a former player
Not just for what they do on the pitch but its trusted eyes and ears and example setting.  They can also spell it out to team mates in basic terms.  Footballers aren't some times the brightest lot (although some are).

No coincidence that two of the first players Curbs signed were Nelson and Gatting.
  • Shirty and Scarfie are livid . Two signings and they’ve not been involved

  • Based on that assessment Stockley must be coming in his pants right now
We’ll I’m pretty sure he ain’t coming in mine.

When did Gary Neville take a penalty?

Best Right back penalty taker was Ray Stewart at West Ham. Although Graham Alexander must have ran him close.
  • That’s all I’m up to date now with my vacuous try hard jokes. This time difference is a killer for my comic timing.
  • He's done nothing yet..At any club he has ever played for.. No reason at all suggest rolling in at SE7 he will suddenly become a Konchesky etc
That said, I'm all for giving new players total support. Ghana has clearly seen something in him from last season and believes he can make the step up.

    Welcome Mandela Egbo.

P'raps Scarfie on his hols 😎 Last time out he was looking a bit frayed round the edges.

  • Are you saying he dives?

You know, the unbelievable left back we had. Who very rarely got in the team at left back.

    Welcome Mandela Egbo.

Let’s see what he can do before he gets an international call up.
  • James Tavernier is one of the best out there at the moment

Has 42-goals from the penalty spot and he's another Right-Back

    I believe Swindon fans sung;

“He’s a star man, running down the right
his name is Manny Egbo and he’s fucking dynamite”

least we won’t have to get creative with a song
  • I will have to redraw my fucking diagram at this rate.  More please!!!

I would say we are at the bollock tingle stage.

  • Just seen his little interview on Twitter - really like the cut of his jib.

I think and hope he will be an excellent signing.
  • Interesting article on his move to Germany:

    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/sep/29/mandela-egbo-borussia-monchengladbach-crystal-palace

Good to hear Palace were miffed at the low level of compensation.
Very impressive and articulate in this interview. Clearly a thoughtful and motivated player.

Any reason he only played 9 or so games for Swindon last year?
