Is it live? Yes. Does the artist (try to) deliver? Yes. Does such a performance come under the auspices of ‘song’? Yes*
*If it is poetic rather than a plain speech then it will likely have rhythm and rhyme, and create it’s own world. The range it inhabits is wide, from pieces like Louis Jordan ‘Beware Brother Beware’, guys like Linton Kwasi Johnson, Rap in all forms. Some spoken voices have a musical beauty, and some singing can sound like talk. John Cooper Clarke certainly qualifies, as would the great John Hegley who consciously spans the speak/song space.

I do like the look of Elena, the way she sings and performs but unfortunately, I believe she's a women of the fag, so it would probably be a no from me, very much a turn off.
What are you rabbiting on about? There's that 'nancy' comment on one of your other posts and now this.
I’m wondering if you are making an assumption?
Women of the fag, is not about sexual identity, it’s about smoking. I don’t like smoking and whenever I’ve gone out with a women who smoked it’s never worked for me. The smell on the clothes, hair and breath being a real passion killer!
Its not good to make assumptions, they’re very often wrong. It’s also not a good idea to look for conflict when it’s not there.
I didn’t assume, I deduced from the available data. Perhaps if you just said she smokes, the data would have been clearer.
Same thing, you did assume!
You chose to read my comment in a way that suited your agenda, as you did with your other reference about another of my posts.
I’m not sure what other way there is to read your “nancy” comment.
It's an expression my father used in reference to my long hair back in the day.
If you look for conflict you may well find it, I'd suggest you stop looking, no slur was intended.
Your Dad was being homophobic, as were you. That wasn’t me looking for conflict.
What are you the PC Police?
My father was from a different generation and may well have been, I don’t know.
You’re also assuming I’m homophobic, I’m not. See Ricky Gervais for comments on jokes.
Stop making assumptions and stop making an argument out of nothing just so you can be right! @addicksaddick
I don't need to make an argument to be right. I'm right most of the time. Just ask anyone who knows me.
