He's class and will play PL football and go for well over £10M in his career.  I have absolutely zero doubt about it.
I think this is the first year he has looked more like a man and started to use his frame to hold off defenders.  He will push on and by 23 be a proper player.  I hope with us.

Interesting take from Sam the fan pundit in this article

"However, I think if there were to come a time when an offer comes in of £1m-£2m from a League One club, I think they would take it, I think they would definitely take it.

"He's not the player that is going to go to the Premier League anymore; he's had a few injuries, and he hasn't quite come back from them very positively, and as you say, he's struggling in the Championship.

    Great fan pundit! Speaks sense...

All jokes aside, i was asked whether Miles had struggled to get game time and whether the club will want to keep him long term - obviously my 2 minute response doesn't quite reflect in the above!

Having said that, i do think he will likely go back to league one next season if he doesnt take this season to his advantage.
Next season is a huge year should we be in the championship - a year of hopefully increased investment but also a year of knowing that League One players are not going to cut it - i'd imagine we will look to move on players like Leaburn, Gillesphey, Kanu and Ahadme in favour of experienced championship pros. Therefore should a transfer of £1-2m come in in summer - then i can see the club taking it, hes certainly not worth more than £3m *currently* imo

If you actually read the piece, it's very fair on Miles and balanced. A soundbite taken, and slapped by the poster above doesn't give the whole story!
I think you're mad putting Leaburn in the same category as Gillesphey, let alone Ahadme

I can accept there are differing opinions about how high Leaburn’s ceiling is, but this is comfortably one of the worst takes I’ve read online for quite some time.

It’s a game of opinions but I’m stunned that a CAS Trust board member would think this.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether he is a CAST board member or not is neither here nor there.

I've not read the article but I don't think Miles's ceiling is the PL either. An average Championship striker is the best I see him being. Hope I'm proved wrong but won't be holding my breath.
It would be very good if he became an average Champ striker. No sign of that yet tho.
Playing up front for us is pretty thankless

Yeah I agree , someone will look at what a unique profile he's got with his size and being good with the ball at his feet and back themselves to be able to coach the rest of it. Hasn't been quite so many England to Bundesliga deals this summer bar Jobe Bellingham but I could see that being a route for Miles.

Just needs to stay fit now.

There is absolutely no way Nathan Jones lets Leaburn go anywhere. He’s literally his perfect striker profile, just signed him to a 3 year contract. He’s arguably been our best striker this season

Absolutely bonkers take that we would even loan him to league 1, let alone sell him for 1-2m

We sold burstow for 1.5M Leaburn’s already proved he’s twice the player burstow was and it’s not like we’re talking about a player in his prime he’s 21 and had 2 years of development hindered through his injury if he builds any sort of muscle on his frame he instantly becomes a much better player
  • Burstow in less than three months in league one this year - 7 goals.  Leaburn in two full years in league one the last two years 8 goals. Is he twice the player of Burstow? I would hazard a guess than any offers to their respective teams next summer that an offer for Burstow would be higher. Not saying Leaburn doesn’t have upside potential, he does but is not as much of a sure thing as some think on here

Burstow is 22 now plays in a very good attacking Bolton side and has the best winger in the league playing behind him, Leaburn was 19 and 20 in the worse Charlton sides in history and if you look at minutes played he’s hardly had much more than burstow bearing in mind he bagged 12 goals in the equivalent of 20 90 minute games when he was 18 before his injuries. Theres going to be debate on his ceiling but when he’s being compared to burstow that’s where we should draw the line

Agree with this. A couple of his goals last season were sublime and highlighted his class and skill.

What does concern me slightly is that he hasn't yet shown his pace this season and whether his injuries have robbed him of some pace.
I'm confident that his hold up play will develop ( like his Dad), and he'll also need to improve his areal prowess, but his potential is huge, injuries permitting.

If Leaburn does not score goals this season we'll not get a million for him.
