Surprise to note the we don't have a thread on the fact that Bexley refuse collectors have gone on strike again! - Once again we have bins full of rubbish and just to top it off last week some pissed up prats thought it was fun to throw not only my bins, but those of some neighbours into the road..

If the ultimate authority is with the council, then the ultimate ultimate responsibility is with those who voted them in.
No training required, just pick it up as you go along.
As a district council it’s the the most direct and regular contact we have with our residents. It’s intensive and complex to organise with all the different waste streams and it’s the biggest source of complaints (re missed bins). But it’s absolutely what the council does.
However the practical reality is the rubbish not being collected.
Is it down to the elected council to do anything about it?
Maybe they should simply shrug and say ‘it’s not my problem, it’s the problem for the contractors to sort out’.
If you buy a wireless set from an electrical retailer and it doesn’t work, the responsibility is with the retailer to whom you have paid your money, although many will try to bounce you on to the manufacturer.
Those retailers would be completely wrong to do so.
White and blue lid bins to be collected from Friday. Brown garden bins won’t start being collected until mid-August as garden trucks and crews are needed to clear backlog of other recycling.
