Can't see anyone stepping in unless the format is drastically changed , can't even see Birmingham or London stepping up with the venues that already exist.
I guess it depends how much you need to spend to support hosting the games. If major stadia/infrastructure investments are required then £870M in benefits will be outweighed by costs pretty quickly.
Don't really have a choice as UKA have rights to use the stadium, suspect it's more if the London Stadium has bookings for 2026 in place for the summer.

A bit early for 2026 concert bookings I'd have thought, but I'm sure Ed Sheeran or Harry Styles could perform while the Commonwealth Javelin competition was going on. Just get the audience to duck at the right times

I was going to go up to Birmingham to see some of the events, but then couldn't be bothered and just ended up watching some track cycling, which was held in London anyway
