Bromley have supposedly accepted a bid for him from a League One club.

At the time of the transfer to Bromley, Cawley said we had first refusal options and sell on clauses included in the deal.

Interesting to see what happens here as we have a buy back I think. Obviously will partly depend on the amount bid

Edit: just looked back and we have first refusal too

Maybe we’ve gone for Adam Reach or Sonny Bradley to cover our left😂

    I’d prefer to have Deji
  • Bromley have confirmed it. He's gone to Lincoln. Undisclosed fee

I've not followed him much since he left but Lincoln have one of the best recruitment teams and are looking highly likely to be in the Championship next season.  I wonder whether we even looked at bringing him back.

    He's never played for Luton.

Deji Elerewe was always rated highly as a boy and the coach who put him in touch with Charlton as a 13 year old and who now coaches Chelsea's young professionals said to me a couple of years ago he was surprised that Deji didn't break into the Cafc team when we were league 1 and instead moved on to Bromley.

I guess players all have a different journey to 1st team men's football and Deji did take time at Bromley to get his career back on track.

I wonder if Charlton considered making a bid for the 22 year old who is more mature on the field and can play CB or Right or left back?

Lincoln is an interesting choice where Michael Skubala is head coach with an impressive record as a coach with England's U18 as well as a coach at Leeds where he was also a caretaker manager.

Lincoln wouldn't have paid a fortune but enough for Bromley to let Deji go.

  • My suspicion is that we may have matched Lincoln's offer but Deji chose to go there. He wouldn't have been promised loads of game time here and we might be in League 1 next season. At Lincoln he'll probably be a regular starter and might be in the Championship next season.

Lincoln met his release clause so no choice for Bromley. Assume we thought it wasn’t worth it with Gough, Mitchell and Josh Laq as youth players and A Mitchell out on loan if we wanted someone from a lower division to come in
  • Might have made sense in the summer if we go down, but right now I can't see that we'd chuck him into the side in a relegation battle in the Championship.

Even if we thought he could be Championship quality at some point, doubt we do right now  so firstly I suspect we didn't bid, and secondly, he'll play more at Lincoln.

Possibly a decent player but not the right timing.
