@bolloxbolder you are a good judge, and know your development players. On Deji I would disagree with you saying he isn't good enough. Isn't it a bit early to judge? Admittedly I rate him, as I do Ness, and Bakrin has come on a fair bit over the last year too.
Yeah probably a bit premature, but over the last year I have found him to be clumsy in possession and consequently he always seems to have a mistake in him. I thought he was really poor in that first half v Welling at Sparrows Lane.
Deji looked very good in friendless at no pace, intensity and pressure. He needs to show that he can replicate this in actual games now, else he will slip behind.
To be fair he won't come up against many strikers at that level as good as Cheek. Or set up the way Bromley do, with the big number 9 playing as a 10. If your going to play hoof ball do it properly.
Deji has been such a failure that Wealdstone have started him in every game and they’re top of the league. Have people forgotten how young he is? Right now he is about a month short of his nineteenth birthday.
In my opinion centre halves like goalkeepers tend to mature rather later than players in other positions. Look how Richard Wood uses his nous not his pace these days at the age of 37.
Both Deji and Kanu will play at a higher level than Charlton, if they don't get injuries. Unfortunately I believe Kanu will play less 1st team games for Charlton than Burstow.
Did the commentator just say that Deji came through the ranks at Chelsea and is now on loan from Charlton?
Can't say I heard that but Deji joined Charlton at just 13 after being in the Kenetic academy for just a few months.
Working deserved that cracking equaliser after the dubious penalty when the forward appeared to kick his own foot to go down. Remember Sterling getting a penalty like that (Pre Var from memory)

I hope I'm wrong but atm that's my view.
He has to be there for August while we have Ness and then at the end of August, we let Ness go, knowing Deji can come back at a days notice.
This means we would always be covered.
No point continuing my Loan Watch thread for the time being, when there is only one player not injured out on loan
As just saves us having to update all the individual threads
Completley lost Cheek.
The calculated risk of loaning him out early, meaning he can be recall just as the window closes (if needed), looks to be paying off.
If he is recalled he's played lots of games, if not he's developing at a decent level.

Deji Elerewe back in the line up after serving his one match suspension.
