He regularly dropped in to cover Clayden's forays upfield in the first half and filled in at right back in the second half. His performance reflected his new found maturity and Ben Garner's faith in him Dobson: 8 - relentlessly hunted down and snuffed out danger, as well as keeping us ticking over Fraser: 7 - lost the ball a couple of times but played a role in our dominance Rak-Sakyi: 8.5 - an electrifying debut. This is player who will get people out of their seats Stockley: 8 - sharp throughout and contributed fully to an excellent team performance. He held the ball up well and combined hard work with no little skill. The goals will come Kirk: 7.5 - a very good second half and his goal will hopefully do him the world of good McGrandles: 7 - important minutes for him and a good cameo, which should lift his confidence. In addition his first goal at The Valley, I loved the way he bamboozled two defenders near the corner flag to free McGrandles to cross low into the box from the byeline, following which Payne's shot was blocked Payne: 7 - lost the ball a couple of times (including for their goal) but he is a dynamic and inventive player who I think is going to be very good for us Referee: 8 - a welcome change from some of the fussy, over-authoritative refs we've seen in recent seasons
