Great work by Ealing films to get us in. 1947. I think they made up the scores from the time.

    Not sure what scores you are referring to (maybe those in the top left?), but this is a Pools coupon.

    You predicted the results using '1' for a home win, '2' for an away win and 'X' for a draw.

    To win the big money, the idea was to get eight draws, but you could also try various other combinations like 'four aways' etc.

    Coupons were often supplied and then collected by door-to-door representatives ... usually on a Thursday before the weekend's matches.  Many an amusing comedy sketch based on big wins where the coupon hadn't been collected or the 'poolsman' had done a runner etc.

    Such fun.
