Wollacott: 8 - Punched well and some a couple of really good saves first half. Clare: 7 - Did a lot of good things but the booking was needless and some of his positioning 1st half was weird...he came very narrow, in front of Inniss (which upset Inniss) Inniss: 7 - Thought he defended the box well. He wasn't as bad on the ball as some people have made out. O'Connell: 7 - Looked pretty assured. Clayden: 6 - 1st half it was hard to work out if he was left-back or left-wing. He just seemed to drift in front of Kirk and it left us really open...see their goal. But he competed well and looks promising. Morgan: 6 - I thought he did ok. He's definitely tracking runs better than he used to and looks to be busy. Dobson: 7.5 - Very good 2nd half with a fair few tackles & blocks. Without him, we would have been wide open. Fraser: 6.5 - Did some good things when space opened up 2nd half. Shame there were so few forward runs for him to find. Rak-Sakyi: 7 - Aside of his obvious skill (the 2nd half turns that switched deep defence into a promising attack were amazing) I liked his attitude. He did his best to dig in for the team. That attitude plus his skill/goals will get him a long way. Longer term, he needs to add a bit of pace and he'll be superb.. Stockley: 6 - Battled away well but was often double marked. His 2nd half header from distance wasn't a bad effort. Kirk: 6 - Neat enough but lacked drive 2nd half (maybe he was knackered). Did well for the goal but another one who lacks a bit of pace. Lavelle: 6 - Not much to do. Referee: 4 - A bit of an odd one. Booked their bloke very early and it set the tone.
Payne: n/a - Looked short of confidence and wasn't the same player that I saw v QPR. Leaburn: n/a - Took a booking for the team.
One of the issues with the refs is they have been given guidance to let more go and allow games to flow. That can only mean to me to let fouls go. Maybe the top refs can actually apply this guidance sensibly but the refs at our level just let some fouls go and not others which frustrates players and actually damages the quality of the game.

Improved in the second and never hides Dobson: 8: MoTM - broke up several Wycombe attacks and was pivotal in stymying Wycombe in the second half Fraser: 6 - a few good moments but he looks as if he lacks a bit of stamina and pace. Too easily brushed off the ball at times Rak-Sakyi: 7.5 - showed his class with a lovely goal and a superb run in the second half. Stockley: 5 - little service and struggled against the two big centre halves, with little support Kirk: 6.5 - good in the first half and the start of the second but faded. He has undoubted class but lacks drive and pace Lavelle:6 - slotted in efficiently alongside O'Connell Referee: 4 - far too keen to assert his authority in the first half - the sort of bloke who goes on holiday to the beach but never gets his trunks wet because he's too busy kicking sand it people's faces. Thankfully, he appears to have had a word with himself at half time.
