I haven't seen Daniel for some years but back in the day we, along with his dad Andy (a good friend), were members at the same golf club. I organised a coach from there to the 1998 play off final. Dan turned up with a load of face paints and proceeded to decorate all of the kids faces on the way up. A small anecdote but it indicates what a lovely and thoughtful guy he was. RIP.
Shocked at this sad news - met him many many years ago when I was between jobs and he helped me connect with a few people which ultimately led me to finding work.
A really nice bloke and my sincere condolences go to his family and friends.
I remember Dan from NetAddicks days, he always had something positive to say and came across well. Bumped into him in the queue at Teeside airport when the club paid for the flights to the Boro cup game, that was the only time I ever met him. RIP Dan.
Can’t believe I’m even having to write anything about this, only recently saw him when he popped into my butchers shop to say hi, spent many a time with him both at Charlton, away games and anywhere where there was a beer going, he and his dad ledge are up there now laughing at us having a beer and a chuckle. I’m absolutely gutted to the hilt and knowing his lovely family as well is making this one harder to swallow. Rip Dan mate say yo to your dad for me. I’m reminiscing with my family about you all the time and I’m so gutted you were taken far too young. As another great mate @Carter has said in his lovely tribute you were a right bastard and that I loved you for 😂
The crowd fund for Dan's funeral has surpassed its target, thanks in no small part to the generosity of a lot of people who use this site a lot of whom had never met Dan. That says a lot about what this community is and the little dysfunctional family all us weirdos make it.
