    RIP to a class actress.
    She was outstanding on stage, was the original Mrs Lovett in the underrated stage musical Sweeney Todd where she stole the show every performance, was nominated for film oscars too. Angela was never going to be a glam lead, and at a time when a lot of women actresses were judged on their looks and told they wouldn't work past the age of 30, she kicked on and forged a brilliant career.
    Even though Murder She Wrote could be described as staple afternoon Drama (beautifully acknowledged in an episode of the brilliant Better Call Saul) she was canny enough to make a Hollywood fortune from it, and was seemingly one of the richest women in the industry.
    Angela Lansbury had a fantastic career, and has left a fine legacy in the art.

    Saw her in Blithe Spirit in the West End eight years ago, great performance for a woman in her eighties. RIP.

    Super actress who bestrode the decades. I have always loved Bedknobs and Broomsticks in particular. RIP Ms. Lansbury.

    Lived in Cork too.
    They say she used to give parts to Hollywood actors past their sell by dates on Murder She Wrote to ensure they got enough points for their pensions. No idea if that’s true but I’d like to think it is 🙏🏻

    And I just read why she moved from California to Cork.
    If true then, WOW!

    Her daughter got involved with a ‘deadbeat’. Would pick her up from school & get her to steal food & money for him from them. So she moved her entire family to the safety of Cork.
    The deadbeat? Charles Manson 😳
