  • Brownie: I’m kind of glad that didn’t go in…

    Jeez..
I’m turning the sound off. Brown is absolutely relentless. Surprised he can breathe. It really is getting beyond a joke now.
  • Not a classic by any stretch of the imagination.

MK Dons doing what was expected from a team who have lost 5 in a row and essentially playing 5-4-1 out of possession.

Because Dobson and Fraser are deep the only outlet we really have his out to the wings, but that gets cut out so easily.

Not sure what I would do to change it. If we try and be braver and a little more expansive, they have the ability to catch us on the counter.
  • I doubt there us a charlton fan anywhere in the world who didn't expect that tonight!

Aneke could be the key for us tonight.lets hope he can do more than 10 minutes.

HE HAS..just don't know where it is...

    YES I KNOW.
  • Felt like an opening round of a boxing match that went on for 40 minutes before anyone swung a punch. Lots of tippy tappy not enough shooty
  • stockley is again hopeless in this system, so easy to play against
  • Crap half of football that. MK are shite, we're dropping to that level. Doesn't help that we can't do anything down the left with Clare. Fraser, O'Connell and Dobson the only positives

Egbo seems a bit off his game today.
    Dobson looking poor,
Clare clearly not a left back,
    Stockley almost anonymous,
    Inniss looks lost,

Kirk doing the running of two men
    Campbell looking good,
    Rak looking good,
    O'Connell looking good,
    Fraser looking good,
    Kirk working hard.
Wollacott has kept us in this so far.

5 players out of sorts. That's too many.

I noticed the ref has been in the way a lot this half. His positioning is too central.
The ref showing us how to press

  • That high line Dons are keeping has figured us out a bit. We're not getting in behind them with Stockley's pace and Kirk isn't a striker so hasn't got the movement.

    Neither does Sessegnon!!!
  • Difficult half with little space and everything breaking down when we try to get forward. Campbell the only light but even he has produced little of value and missed his big chance courtesy of the ref!

Defence looks sound other than the break away.

Midfield quite good and moving the ball well.

I can see Chuks coming on for Campbell with Kirk going wide after an hour. Payne on when required.

    COYA!
  • Lucky not to be two down.

    Painully slow in possession.
    No movement off the ball
    Lightweight in midfield
Totally different from last home performance.

The best way to describe the game, Stockley, Inniss, Grigg have barely been mentioned.

Bit of a midfield  game with a lot of passing around from both sides, we've attacked well and got into the final third a lot more but haven't had the killer pass/ chance.
They've defended well, barely attacked but had the 2 best chances.

    Clare havin' a mare!

Payne and Aneke on sooner rather than later.

That left side has no width without Sessegnon. Everything is going back inside and they are just crowding us out.

45 minutes of a left footed LB and we can start opening them up down both flanks. Aneke up top for a good 30 minutes would terrorise them too.

Whilst MK can keep the ball well, they have absolutely no pace and if we step it up a gear we should be able to open them up at will.
  • Sessegnon needs to come on for Clare and JRS needs to buck his ideas up.
  • Clare may be many things but a left back he is not. Young Campbell acquitted himself well but shat his pants at his big chance. Wollacot kept us in it. Err, that was it. Charlotte is no Scottie Minto (although she is trying hard bless her).  It can only get better……
  • We need more energy up front, to press their defenders as they'll make mistakes.

We look dangerous when we attack quickly, but most of the time it's tediously slow and easy to defend against

    Nice poem..

  • Would Clayden have been a better option than Clare?
Not a great defender, but Clare nearly cost us a goal, and it least it gives us some left footed width
  • Poor 1st half. I cant see us being that bad 2nd half. Stockly needs to come off as he isnt ever getting anything against their defence. Chucks and payne on plz. And strangely for me I would bring Albie on as he will have enough time on the ball against this lot to pick some through balls

Are MK Dons going to be able to stay focused and play that compact this up coming half.

Part of me would like to see someone push onto McEachran, but I think giving them the opportunity to potentially play quick one touch balls around the corner will suit them if we begin to over commit.

  • If I was manager I would at the start of the 2nd half

    Put Sess on for Clare
    Put Aneke on for Stockley
Put Payne on for Campbell & put JRS on the other wing.

  • We'll, just how boring was that? I expect Dons will be happy though. They've strung two lines across the pitch and have crowded us from start to finish. It's telling that for most of the half, the loudest I shouted was to call for hand ball, whilst the loudest noise from those around me was to boo the ref. That all changed with three loud noises at the end for a Dobson tackle, a Don's crossbar shot and a Wallacott save. This game badly needs a Charlton goal to open things up a bit. God help us if they score.

Clare is the problem tonight and he is taking out that left side of the pitch with his hesitation and making us easier to play against. If he comes back on, and I hope he doesn’t, watch him. He gets the ball, moves forward a couple of yards and stops. It fucks up the play and momentum
  • Sessegnon needs to come on for Clare and JRS needs to buck his ideas up.
Agreed. Unless JRS starts to buck up soon he needs a spell out of the team because at the moment he is contributing little.

  • MK looking at a club record of 6 defeats in a row ... that is if we score😊
  • Carlo: "that's the corner flag challenge"

Not sure I would be brave enough to risk an Aneke just coming back from a 2 month injury for 45 minutes.

Not sure if I would be brave enough to risk a fully fit Aneke that long either ha ha.
