Eggleton denied from inside the six yard box with the last chance of the game
  • Lost the stream at the death but doesnt matter...

FT: Charlton Athletic 4-1 Coalville Town
  • Donny 0 Lynn 1

Sounds like a marital bust-up and the wife has the upper hand.
If Donny gets a winning argument to make it 1-1, they will have to go through it all again next week.
Donny's been shut out and Lynn's changed the locks.

    FT 0-1 😃
  • Well played Coalville and their fans.

Well done, Golfie ...... credit where it's due if you're right.

Mind you, I'd love you to be proved wrong if we score 5 .....

  • Main takeaways are that as we know Aneke is 10X the player Stockley is and Lavelle starting in the league is going to be a real worry.

Mc Grandles an absolute waste of space once again. And with JFC on the bench!

That's the right score, I feel.

We needed to win and into the 2nd round.

Coalville needed to play their biggest game and enjoy their day out without being humiliated.

  • What was the move leading to Chuks goal?

Little quip from @Leuth on the marks thread:

"Morgan: 6.5 so determined to score and yet so obviously not going to"

Made me smile.  Cheers, Leuthy baby!

Oh, I don't know about that!

Yes, it'll be the easiest game for me to get to ... but it's the kind of game that you know we'll f*** up and probably in front of live TV too.
  • FFS Lavelle, I predicted 4-0, you owe me 2 prediction points!

In the first half it was clear if we passed it around we were going to dominate the game.

In the second half felt like everything got a bit messy and we sat back for some reason at 2-0. Luckily we got a couple of goals at the end to save our blushes but on the whole a good performance.

    Pros: Sess, Campbell, Payne, Dobson

Average: Mcgrandles, Morgan's finishing, Henry, Lavelle
  • What was the move leading to Chuks goal?
We passed it to Chuks, he turned, took a couple of paces and smashed it past their keeper.

If we're out of the cup competitions I feel that Aaron Henry needs to go out on loan in January...

Been a little disappointed from his performances against Brighton | Coalville this week, these are the games where he should be coming into the side and showing his potential - Might be because he's just been injured, so is finding his way back into games.

But equally wonder if he's getting to the point where U21 Football isnt enough of a challenge anymore, and the lack of First Team football he's been involved in this season, is hurting him a touch.
  • 4-1 is slightly flattering, but in these games the higher teams normally pull clear at the end, with their better squads and fitness.
  • 2 of my mates who are involved with Coalville, 1 director and 1 sponsor have told me they are being very well looked after at the ground today, by our hospitality team. One has had a long chat with Keith Peacock, as he played against him back in the day when he was at Swindon Town, he said everyone on the Charlton side are being really nice....Best he has experienced in a long while. Well that's nice to know at least!
They've also met Curbs and had a chat, they are both really impressed with the setup.
    Wait until Sandgaard turns up.
