Our Tracey had asked me to put this up on the site once the OS article had been posted up but only just arrived home following a shopping trip & was about to do so. No worries, as long as it's on here, that's what matters.
It goes without saying that Tracey has pulled out all the stops to help make tomorrow a very special day for this young lad, as is described on the OS.
It is hoped that one of our players will carry Ivan onto the pitch as, sadly, he now has to use a wheelchair. However, should Ivan be too poorly to cope with this on the day, then this part of his surprise will have to be sidelined.
What we want as many Charlton fans as possible to do is, as with Ben Jay when he bravely walked out with the team, to chant Ivan's name as the teams exit the Tunnel in the mode of :
I-VAN ( clap clap clap) again & again ......as loud as possible so that he won't fail to hear it.
I appreciate that it's a little last minute to request this of the faithful but I know everyone will do their utmost to make this happen. When the family replays the video, not only will they be reminded of the bravery of their young son but will also be so proud to hear his name chanted at The Valley.
PLEASE do what you do best & ensure that your group is fully aware of this tribute and joins in and encourage those seated around you to do so too. Spread the word before kick off to as many fans as you can...it will mean so much.
You've done this before, let's do it again !
Thanks, everyone, as always for your help.
THIS is the essence of our club.
THIS is one example of what makes it so special.
And why we are proud to play our part in ensuring it stays that way. xx
Admin- please can you read the email I sent a while ago, thanks. We don't have much time to get this "out there"...thanks.
Thanks, Lookie.
If anyone is on a CAFC FB site , I understand that they have the info from the OS but need to share & spread the word re the I-VAN ( clap clap clap) so would be grateful if you could help, please.
Well, sadly, I failed in my attempt to elicit additional support for young Ivan yesterday as he was carried out of the Tunnel by Ryan.
Too little, too late is my "excuse" and in hindsight, maybe I could have done more to ensure this brave little man had a memorable entry onto the hallowed turf.
We can only hope that the support that our Tracey gave the family ( as always ) made it a day to remember for years to come.
Thank you to those who passed on our message to others & I'm certain that, with more time to organise in future, our caring fans will once again give their support.
Thoughts are with Ivan & his lovely family at this difficult time.

Have a great day, let’s hope Charlton don’t ruin it!
I hope they have a fantastic day out.
Keep smiling. 🤗
