I was actually quite looking forward to a Friday night match under the lights when this fixture first got moved, but now I kinda feel like we should have just paused domestic football while the World Cup is on?
Agreed. it's been ridiculous really, as summed up by the 3rd round draw for the FA Cup taking place at the same time as a televised World Cup game
I have no idea what to expect this evening, so not even going to attempt a prediction but, of course, hoping for a much needed win.
I actually think we will miss Stockley, if not for his attacking "qualities" then for what he adds defensively. I think Chuks is a better option from the bench second half, so I wouldn't start him.
If Chuks is on the bench then we need to start with CBT and vice versa. Both are super-sub wildcards.
I think this could be a game for DJ to make a decent contribution, so I would like to see him starting up front. He is strong and can hold the ball up quite well.
It will be interesting to see if the hype about the Brighton game has any sort of knock-on effect on tonight's attendance. It is a bring a friend game for season ticket holders, so hoping for a decent attendance for a midweek game on a cold Winter's night in December.
Win, draw or lose, I would just like to see a decent team performance without gifting Cheltenham any goals by our defensive frailties.

Said it when it first got moved, but lunchtime tomorrow would have been the better shout, then fill the bars post match for the WC game.
I’m just hoping to see us *not* passing out from the back for the first five or ten minutes or so. And a long throw into their box occasionally would be a bonus. Just to add a bit of variety to our play.
I’ve given up on promotion, and would like to see a nice cup run.
Finally here after rail issues in Southampton! Bit of train hopping don't hurt! Understand we aren't likely to play overly well but it's gotta be better than Port Vale....right?
For Ness to replace him and not Elerewe though, given how long Deji has been back... Ouch
Deji must be injured, right? He's been out of the squad the last 2-3 weeks. Unless Garner really, really doesn't fancy him. But why bring him back from loan then, why not just bring Ness back?
So much about this is confusing, but to be honest, I can't argue with dropping Lavelle, he's been really poor. And Ness and Mitchell are at least comfortable on the ball.

You've been warned.

Come on Varney, get a tweet going!
Then we can chant it's just like watching Brazil...
