I sensed that might happen when they they stumped up millions for their new stadium... hardly a glamour side and missed out on the bigger prem money....
Dowie's got dose of Blues By James Nursey 03/08/2007
Iain Dowie last night accused Coventry's board of misleading him and admitted he might not have become the club's manager had he known they were so cash-strapped.
Former Charlton and Crystal Palace boss Dowie, snubbed Leicester's advances to take charge of the Sky Blues in February on the proviso he would be given £7million to spend on players this summer.
But a cash injection by an American consortium bidding to takeover the club is still yet to happen as negotiations have stalled over the price of the Ricoh Arena, which is owned by the council.
"I came here on the premise of having some finances but I can either throw my toys out of the pram or get on with it," he said. "I have brought a lot of staff here and I have to carry on working the way I would do.
"If we got a bit of investment from top to bottom, we could do well."
